At the reception, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Russian Federation, considering Russia one of the top priority partners and has actively prepared for President Vladimir Putin's visit. Vietnam wishes to continue substantive and effective cooperation with Russia in all fields, including nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, for the common interests of the two peoples, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world. Vietnam highly appreciates the assistance of the Russian Federation and the former Soviet Union, which has helped train many generations of leading scientists and experts in the field of nuclear energy in Vietnam; help design, restore and increase the capacity of the Da Lat nuclear reactor, making an important contribution to socio-economic development in providing radioactive pharmaceuticals for cancer diagnosis and treatment... The Prime Minister said that Vietnam has no policy to return to developing nuclear power but will continue to research and consider nuclear energy as an important solution in implementing the commitment to zero net emissions by 2050, ensuring energy security, serving national development. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Russia and Rosatom continue to support Vietnam in training nuclear science human resources; operate the Da Lat research reactor so that it can run for another 8-10 years; closely coordinate, share information, promptly resolve problems to ensure the quality and progress of the Project to build a Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center in Dong Nai; welcome the group's proposal to build a nuclear medicine center and research and cooperate in developing wind power. General Director of AELikhachev reviewed the results of cooperation between the two countries in the nuclear field. He affirmed that, on a good foundation, Russia and Rosatom wish to continue promoting cooperation with Vietnam in the fields mentioned by the Prime Minister, especially research on nuclear science (including nuclear power, nuclear medicine, applications in transportation, etc.) and other fields such as wind power development; is ready to share experiences, support Vietnam in improving capacity, training human resources, and promoting maximum localization in these fields. The General Director said that he personally will make every effort to contribute to promoting cooperation in the above fields and will report to the Prime Minister on specific cooperation activities and projects. Rosatom is the world's leading corporation in the nuclear industry. To date, Rosatom has 450 member companies, with a total workforce of over 350,000 people operating in 50 countries and territories.
