According to the Prime Minister, the good relationship between the two countries is an important condition for discussing with New Zealand leaders to resolve the proposals and recommendations of overseas Vietnamese. The Prime Minister said he will propose to New Zealand leaders to consider and recognize the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority; promote the establishment of Vietnamese associations with recognized legal status and operate in accordance with the law. The Prime Minister hopes that people will continue to unite, the predecessors will help the successors, "the strong leaves cover the torn leaves", join hands to build a united, developed and strong community; promote national pride, preserve and promote the national cultural identity and Vietnamese language; strive to rise up, integrate actively, comply with the law; encourage relatives so that more and more Vietnamese people will come to work and study in New Zealand. From there, it contributes to promoting complementary advantages between the two countries when New Zealand has a large land area and a sparse population while Vietnam has a small land area and a larger population, contributing to local development, continuing to be an increasingly solid bridge in bilateral relations.

The touching moment of the meeting was when Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, an overseas Vietnamese who has lived away from the homeland for 20 years, said that, because she was very impressed with the Prime Minister's closeness and simplicity, she boldly asked him to share about her work, especially the difficulties he had experienced in life. The Prime Minister replied: I was born in a coastal area, grew up in a mountainous area in a poor family with many children. I always strive to do my job to the fullest, and try to complete any tasks assigned by elders and organizations. I do well whatever I am assigned, and try to do whatever I can think of that is good for everyone and beneficial to the common good. I have been fortunate to have experienced many different positions and jobs, both in the South and the North, both domestically and internationally. In addition to my own efforts, the help and support of friends, brothers, and comrades is very important. Without the Party, the State, and the People, there would be no me. For example, without the Party and State's policies, how could a poor student from the mountains like me be able to study abroad? Then after I finished my studies, I was assigned a job by the organization. Wherever I worked, my comrades and colleagues supported and helped me wholeheartedly, and I tried not to let them down. As Prime Minister, I must always try my best. In the past, I tried one, now I must try ten times to unite with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party and State leaders, and comrades in the Government, to do our best, to contribute to the whole country in promoting great national unity, to remove difficulties, overcome challenges, find the best solutions, and realize the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress, to build an increasingly powerful and prosperous country, with people increasingly well-off and happy, and with no one left behind. To achieve the above goal, under the leadership of the Party, directly and regularly by the Politburo, the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, with the participation of the entire political system, the joint efforts and consensus of the people and businesses, the support of international friends, each person must try to do a good job in their position. I would like to answer simply like that". Hearing the answer, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh repeated the saying "we cannot choose where we were born, we cannot choose our parents...". Expressing her emotion with the very sincere and honest sharing of the Prime Minister, she hopes that the positive attitude towards life and the spirit of striving for the common good will continue to spread to all of us.
