This activity also contributes to enhancing political trust, promoting the finding of solutions to different issues, including maritime issues, strengthening relations between the two countries, contributing to peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of four key government leaders invited to attend the 14th Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin (WEF Tianjin), demonstrating the importance of the WEF as well as the international business community to the position and role of the economy, as well as Vietnam's determination to reform and open up.
WEF Tianjin, attended by many government leaders and more than 1,000 businesses, took place in the context of a regional and global economic downturn, with countries seeking ways to promote new growth drivers for economic recovery.
At the conference, the Prime Minister will share experiences and learn from member economies and large enterprises in creating, opening up, activating and exploiting new growth drivers.
The Prime Minister will also call on the global business community to continue to pay attention and increase investment in the Vietnamese market, and make a number of recommendations related to public-private partnership models as well as measures to attract green and sustainable financial resources into the Vietnamese economy.
China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years, while Vietnam is China's largest partner in ASEAN. According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, total bilateral trade turnover in 2022 reached 175.6 billion USD.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of March, the total accumulated investment capital from China in Vietnam reached 23.85 billion USD with a total of 3,651 projects, ranking 6th in the list of countries and territories investing the most in Vietnam.

The General Secretary was the first high-ranking foreign leader to visit the country after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said this was an especially important event for the two countries and a success in all aspects.
WEF is one of the prestigious global forums, attracting the attention and participation of most leaders of countries, international organizations as well as the world's leading corporations and companies. Vietnam and WEF have had relations since 1989. WEF often invites Vietnam to attend annual conferences in Davos and WEF conferences on East Asia.

The Prime Minister hoped that WEF would support the diversification of markets for Vietnamese goods and enhance their position in regional and global supply chains.
The WEF President emphasized his commitment to promoting cooperation with Vietnam, affirming that he will closely coordinate to propose and implement cooperation projects such as the Industrial Revolution 4.0 Linkage Center, digital skills training for people, and promoting green transformation.
