On the afternoon of September 20 local time (early morning of September 21 Vietnam time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a series of bilateral meetings with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar, Finnish President Sauli Ninisto, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Thai Prime Minister... on the occasion of attending the 78th High-level Debate of the United Nations General Assembly (UN) in New York (USA).
During a meeting with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, the head of the Vietnamese Government suggested continuing close cooperation to strengthen trade and investment relations, bringing economic relations commensurate with the good political relations between the two countries.
President Miguel Díaz-Canel affirmed that the Cuba-Vietnam relationship is a beautiful symbol of comradeship and close friendship, which has been cultivated by President Fidel Castro, President Ho Chi Minh and generations of leaders of the two countries over many periods.
He also affirmed that he will direct ministries and sectors to coordinate more closely with Vietnam to promote economic, investment and trade relations, especially agricultural cooperation, and ensure food security.
Meeting with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested continuing close cooperation to strengthen trade and investment relations, bringing economic relations commensurate with the good political relations between the two countries.
At a meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides continue to create breakthroughs in trade and investment so that bilateral relations develop commensurate with the potential and advantages of each country.
In addition, the Prime Minister said that the two sides need to continue developing cooperation in labor and education and training - areas in which both countries have needs and strengths; and share experiences in sustainable management of the Mekong Delta and the Danube River.
President Klaus Iohannis affirmed that Romania will strive to promote all-round cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchange to match the development of relations between the two countries.

Meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen relations with Poland - a priority partner in Central and Eastern Europe. The head of the Vietnamese Government asked the Polish Government to create conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to live, work stably, and integrate well into the host country.
The Polish President highly appreciated the achievements in economic and social recovery and development that Vietnam has achieved after the pandemic. He was particularly interested in promoting economic relations between the two countries and said that there is still a lot of potential for cooperation between the two sides, including in areas such as education and training, information technology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.
