Prime Minister approves Ca Mau Airport expansion and upgrade project worth 2,400 billion VND
This is a project invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV with the goal of investing in the construction, expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport to ensure the exploitation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft.

The Prime Minister has just signed Decision No. 1188/QD-TTg approving the investment policy of the Ca Mau Airport expansion and upgrade project with ACV as the investor.
The project aims to invest in the construction, expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport to ensure the operation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft; create momentum for economic, cultural and social development, while ensuring national security and defense of Ca Mau province and the region.
The main items of this Project include the construction of a new runway measuring 2,400 m × 45 m, ensuring the operation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft; the construction of a taxiway connecting the runway to the aircraft parking lot measuring 128 m × 15 m, with a material shoulder on each side of 5 m and 5 waiting taxiways; the construction of an aircraft parking lot in the southern area measuring 182 m × 112.5 m, with a material shoulder width of 5 m, meeting the operation of 3 parking positions for A320, A321 and equivalent.
In addition, the Project also renovates and expands the existing passenger terminal to a capacity of 500,000 passengers/year (can be expanded to ensure handling of 1 million passengers/year when needed).
The passenger terminal construction area is about 2,668 m2, the total construction floor area is about 4,200 m2, 2 floors, the building height is about 9.5 m.
The investment capital of the Project is about 2,400 billion VND, using 100% of ACV's equity; the project's operating period is 50 years; the project implementation progress is 18 months from the date of land allocation by the State.
The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Ca Mau province to allocate land according to the planning, land use plan and airport planning approved by competent state agencies to implement the Project in accordance with the provisions of the law on land; inspect and supervise the implementation of the Project by ACV in accordance with the provisions of law, the Prime Minister's instructions and the opinions of relevant ministries and branches, including: inspecting and supervising the capital mobilization of ACV according to the progress of the Project implementation.
The State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises is assigned to be responsible according to the functions and tasks of the State ownership representative agency for the preservation and development of State capital at ACV, the financial investment efficiency of the Project; organize the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of Project investment according to the provisions of law and promptly report on violations (if any) and fully perform according to the functions and tasks for the investment implementation process.
Ca Mau Airport is currently a level 4C airport, with a 2-level passenger terminal with a capacity of 200,000 passengers/year, a runway measuring 1,500mx30m, ensuring the operation of ATR72 aircraft or equivalent. Currently, Ca Mau Airport is being operated by VASCO with only one route, Ca Mau - Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa, with a frequency of 4 flights/week using ATR72 aircraft.
