On November 26, the Government Office issued Document No. 8726/VPCP-KGVX conveying the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Lunar New Year holidays and some holidays in 2025.
Previously, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Document No. 5152/BLDTBXH-CATLĐ dated October 22, 2024 and Document No. 5621/BLDTBXH-CATLĐ dated November 8, 2024 proposing a plan for Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays and some other holidays in 2025.
Considering those proposals, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has the following comments:
Agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in the above documents on Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays and swapping working days on the occasion of Victory Day 30/4 and International Labor Day 1/5/2025. The Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall notify administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises and employees as prescribed.
Accordingly, for the Lunar New Year 2025, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have 5 days off for the Lunar New Year, from Monday, January 27 to Friday, January 31, 2025 (ie December 28, Giap Thin year to January 3, At Ty year). However, because in 2025, all 5 days of the Lunar New Year holiday fall on working days during the week, workers will have 2 more days off before the weekend and 2 days off after the Lunar New Year holiday (from January 25 to February 2, 2025, ie December 26 to January 5). This plan will help workers have more time with their families, stimulate tourism, and shop for goods.
Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 9 consecutive days off, from January 25 to February 2, 2025. |
For April 30 and International Labor Day (May 1), the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs proposed a plan to swap working days for 5 consecutive days off, from April 30 to May 4, 2025 (ie Wednesday to Sunday).
National Day 2025 is expected to be off on September 2 and the day immediately preceding it, meaning a 4-day holiday, from August 30 to September 2, 2025.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested agencies and units to arrange and organize on-duty departments according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to organizations and people, in which paying attention to assigning officials and civil servants to be on-duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during Tet and public holidays according to regulations.
Ministries, agencies and localities have specific and appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, enterprises, organizations and individuals to actively and proactively implement production, business, economic and social activities, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods, services, prices and markets, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan, the year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development in the coming time.
