NGHE AN LEADS THE COUNTRY IN MODELS AND EXAMPLES IN THE MOVEMENT FOR ALL PEOPLE TO PROTECT NATIONAL SECURITY
Over the years, our Party and State have issued many policies, resolutions, directives and regulations to mobilize the strength of the entire political system and the masses to participate in the movement of All People Protecting National Security; in which, thoroughly implementing the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, on June 13, 2005, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 521/2005/QD-TTg, taking August 19 every year as the "National Day for Protecting National Security".
Over the past years, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention and Control, Social Evils and the Movement for the Whole People to Protect National Security of Nghe An province have always paid attention to leading and directing the building of a comprehensive movement for the Whole People to Protect National Security, with many rich and diverse contents, forms and measures, suitable to the actual situation of the locality.
Nghe An is currently the leading province in the country in terms of models, typical in the movement of All people protecting national security with 119 models, of which 13 models have been commended and replicated nationwide by the Ministry of Public Security. Notable are: the model of "Drug-free communes" in 158 communes, wards and towns; 98 model points of "Drug-free blocks, hamlets, villages and hamlets".
Cua Lo town also has 45 effective models, currently completing 8/8 "Skilled Civil Service" models. In 2023, Cua Lo town was selected by the Ministry of Public Security and Nghe An Provincial Police as the first district-level locality to build a typical example of the All-people movement to protect national security, a typical model ward police force in terms of security, order and urban civilization.
For Nghi Thu ward, the tourist center of Cua Lo town, with a total natural area of over 371 hectares, a population of 1,407 households and 5,632 people, 13 self-management models on security and order have been implemented, notably: "Joining hands to help people who have made mistakes", "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family safety group", "Public fire fighting point", "Drug-free ward", "Skillful mass mobilization in community reintegration".
There are currently no complicated criminal, economic, or drug hotspots in the ward. In the first 8 months of 2023, crime decreased by 25% compared to the same period in 2022, with no serious fires or traffic accidents.
PEOPLE ARE THE SUBJECT OF THE MOVEMENT FOR THE WHOLE PEOPLE TO PROTECT NATIONAL SECURITY
Speaking at the Festival, on behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Major General Le Van Tuyen - Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security commended, acknowledged and congratulated the achievements and results of the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province in general and the government and people of Cua Lo town and Nghi Thu ward in particular in the movement of All people protecting national security.
In order for the movement of All People Protecting National Security in Nghe An province in general, and Cua Lo town and Nghi Thu ward in particular, to become more practical and effective, Major General Le Van Tuyen suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels in the area need to continue to do a good job of propaganda, raising awareness for cadres, party members and people about the role, position, significance and importance of the masses in protecting national security in general and ensuring security and order in particular.
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen also requested the Steering Committee of the People's Movement to Protect National Security at all levels to regularly innovate the content, form, and implementation measures; closely link with emulation movements and other campaigns suitable to the characteristics and specific situation of each locality to mobilize the strength of the entire population to participate, contributing to building a solid people's security posture in the locality; regularly review and consolidate the political system at the grassroots level to be able to solve complex security and order issues right at the grassroots level according to the 4 on-the-spot motto;...
With the responsibility of being the core force in ensuring security and order, the Deputy Minister of Public Security requested the Nghe An Provincial Police, as well as the police of districts, cities and towns, to grasp the situation to proactively advise and mobilize all levels and sectors to participate in coordinating the implementation of the task of ensuring security and order; proactively and synchronously deploy professional measures to effectively combat all types of crimes, strive to reduce crimes to achieve the targets assigned by the National Assembly, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security; proactively advise and guide the consolidation of the movement of All people protecting national security;...
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to pay attention to building the Public Security force, especially effectively implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW dated March 16, 2022 of the Politburo "on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security force, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation".
Speaking at the National Day for National Security Protection, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy affirmed that, along with economic and social development, the work of ensuring security and order in the area has always been identified by the province as very important, in which building the movement for National Security Protection is a regular, key and fundamental task that has been given attention and promoted. Thanks to that, Nghe An has been, is and is becoming more and more stable and peaceful.
Emphasizing the overall results of the province, there are decisive contributions from grassroots movements, including Nghi Thu ward with many creative and effective ways in the movement of All people protecting national security; the head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee commended, acknowledged, highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements of the Party Committee, government, cadres, soldiers and people of Nghi Thu ward in many fields, including the movement of All people protecting national security in recent times.
To contribute to building a safe and friendly tourism environment in Cua Lo, with the core of focusing on building a solid security base, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy requested the Party Committee, government, armed forces, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Nghi Thu ward, as a key tourist destination of the town, to seriously and fully absorb the opinions and directions given at the ceremony, especially those of Major General Le Van Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Public Security, and at the same time requested to pay attention and pay attention to performing well a number of specific tasks.
First of all, it is necessary to continue to thoroughly grasp and perceive that the task of protecting national security is the common cause of the entire people; building the movement of the entire people to protect national security is an important, regular, and continuous task; the people are the subject of the movement of the entire people to protect national security.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee respectfully thanked the attention and support of the leaders and agencies and units of the Ministry of Public Security for the development of the province, including the work of ensuring security and order in the province; hoping to continue to receive the attention, direction and support of the Ministry of Public Security to create a favorable environment to help Nghe An province develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a fairly developed province in the Northern region by 2025, and the whole country by 2030.
To recognize, commend and honor collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of All People Protecting National Security, the Minister of Public Security awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives in Nghe An province, including Nghi Thuy ward, Cua Lo town; Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 collectives, including 3 collectives in Cua Lo town; Director of Nghe An Provincial Police awarded Certificates of Merit to 34 collectives and 20 individuals, including 2 collectives in Cua Lo town.
On this occasion, the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the movement for the protection of national security donated 20 million VND and the Provincial Steering Committee for the prevention and control of crime, social evils and the building of the movement for the protection of national security donated 10 million VND to Nghi Thu ward. 30 gifts were also presented by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Nghe An province, and Cua Lo town to policy families and students with difficult circumstances who excelled in their studies in Nghi Thu ward.
