According to historical records: Le Hoan was born on July 15, Tan Suu year (August 10, 941) in a poor farming family, his father was Le Mich, his mother was Dang Thi Sen. During his 64 years of life, with 10 years as a General of the Ten Directions, 24 years of reigning the country, King Le Dai Hanh led the army and people of Dai Co Viet to defeat the Song, pacify the Cham, expand the territory, and build a prosperous country. He had many contributions in diplomacy, building and developing the Dai Co Viet nation. During his reign, he built many construction projects. Promoted agricultural production, organized the Tich Dien plowing ceremony to encourage people to produce. Built many canals and dikes, and expanded roads. He was the first person to organize the digging of a river, the river he directed the construction of still exists in Thanh Hoa today, and is often called the Le Dynasty canal.
