On the afternoon of November 9, HAGL welcomed the Hanoi Police Club at Pleiku Stadium, within the framework of round 7 of the V-League. It can be said that the mountain town team took full advantage of their home field and entered the match with great confidence against a strong opponent. Right from the 2nd minute, coach Le Quang Trai's team had a chance to open the score. Ngoc Quang coordinated well with Minh Vuong to tear apart the Hanoi Police Club's defense, but the player wearing the number 8 shirt of HAGL could not beat goalkeeper Nguyen Filip in a face-to-face situation at a narrow angle.
In the 8th minute, HAGL had another bright moment when Minh Vuong passed the ball accurately to Ngoc Quang, but Ngoc Quang's shot missed the center of the ball. After many attempts to attack, it was not until the 25th minute that the Pleiku home team had the lead. This time, Chau Ngoc Quang knew how to take advantage of the opportunity, when he fired a tricky shot to defeat Filip Nguyen, putting HAGL ahead 1-0.
On the other side, Hanoi Police Club caused trouble in the home team's penalty area, but still failed to score. At the end of the first half, the mountain town team temporarily led with a score of 1-0.
HAGL took the lead in the first half thanks to Chau Ngoc Quang (left).
In the second half, Hanoi Police Club started to push their squad up to attack in search of an equalizer. In the 51st minute, from a free kick 30 meters away, Leo Artur shot the ball dangerously, but HAGL goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien was very alert to successfully block it. Just 5 minutes later (minute 56), Phan Van Duc stopped the ball with his chest in the penalty area and then volleyed with his right foot, and the HAGL goalkeeper once again reacted brilliantly to save the goal.
We must give praise to goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien, when he made 3 consecutive saves within 15 minutes to keep HAGL's clean sheet. In the 61st minute, from a corner kick hanging towards the 2nd post, Hugo Gomes chose a good position and jumped high to head the ball but still could not beat the "goalkeeper" born in 2003 of the mountain town team.
Hanoi Police Club created many shots towards HAGL's goal, but all were dangerous opportunities. Coach Polking's team could not put the ball in the home team's net once in the 90 minutes of official play and 12 minutes of extra time in the second half.
In the end, HAGL won 1-0 against Hanoi Police Club, with the only goal scored by Chau Ngoc Quang.
