This morning, Ba Vi district has 12 schools that do not organize in-person classes; of which 2 schools are closed, 8 schools are online, and 2 schools are combining online and in-person classes.
Specifically, schools that let 100% of students stay home include: Tien Phong Kindergarten, Minh Chau Kindergarten. The number of schools implementing online learning includes: Vat Lai Kindergarten, Tien Phong Primary School, Minh Chau Primary School, Minh Chau Secondary School, Vat Lai Secondary School, Cam Thuong Secondary School, Tien Phong Secondary School. Cam Thuong Primary School and Vat Lai Primary School combine online and in-person learning.
“The reason the above schools cannot organize in-person classes is because some schools are flooded; others have flooded roads from the villages to the schools. We will flexibly implement teaching methods so that areas where students can go to school will organize for students to go to school, and areas where the roads are flooded will organize for students to study online,” said a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Vi district.
In Ba Dinh district, on the morning of September 12, 3 schools: Kindergarten No. 8, Nghia Dung Primary School, and Phuc Xa Secondary School let students stay home. The reason is that these 3 schools are in Phuc Xa ward, located outside the Red River dike, many students and teachers had to evacuate and lost power. In addition, the Experimental School organized online learning for students. The remaining schools studied in person with the attendance rate reaching 97.5%.
“2.5% of students did not go to school because of health reasons, family matters, or because the road to school was flooded,” the Department of Education and Training of Ba Dinh District shared.
On September 12, Quoc Oai District still had one school of Tuyet Nghia Kindergarten allowing students to stay home due to flooding in the school yard. To flexibly resolve the issue for parents to send their children, the school created conditions for students at the flooded school to study at neighboring schools.
On the morning of September 12, the number of students attending in-person classes in Ung Hoa district was 91.63%. In the district, there are 5 schools that have stopped in-person classes, including: Tan Phuong Kindergarten (main campus closed), Hoa Xa Kindergarten, Hong Quang Kindergarten, Vien An Primary School, Hoa Xa Primary School. These schools have all switched to online learning. A school along the river of Van Thai Primary School was flooded, so the school gathered students at the main campus to study in-person.
For primary school level, the whole city has 8 districts allowing students to study 100% in person; 22 units have schools that have to study online or have closed classes. Specifically, there are a total of 66 facilities that have stopped going to school; of which 56 facilities teach online, 10 facilities have closed classes and have made up classes.
The number of schools suspending classes and teaching online is continuing to be reported to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. The number of schools temporarily suspending in-person classes as of the afternoon of September 11 was more than 160.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training directed education and training departments and schools to continue to closely monitor weather developments and the actual situation in each area to develop and implement appropriate teaching plans with the highest goal of ensuring safety for all students.
In case of localized flooding, the school proactively organizes flexible teaching methods, can conduct direct teaching combined with online teaching, or assign homework for students to study on their own.
Schools, especially schools in low-lying areas and schools that have been built for many years... need to regularly check all facilities and equipment, check electrical systems, drainage systems, surrounding walls, windows... and only organize direct teaching when ensuring safety conditions for students.
