The contest “Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho” was held for the first time nationwide in 2020, as one of the key national activities proposed by the Central Propaganda Department, to celebrate the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh . The Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper is the unit that proposed the idea of this meaningful contest.
Following the success of the contest in 2020 and 2021, the Organizing Committee continues to organize the contest "Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho" in the 2022-2023 school year to educate children across the country about pride and love for President Ho Chi Minh.

Today's ceremony (May 12) was attended by Dr. Tran Van Dat, Acting Director of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training; Comrade Le Hai Long, Head of the Central Youth Union's Children's Affairs Department, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; journalist Nguyen Phan Khue, Editor-in-Chief of the Tien Phong and Children's Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, leaders representing relevant departments and branches, along with teachers and excellent children who won prizes this year.
Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Phan Khue emphasized: "Both the individual and collective competitions in this contest focus on a consistent theme, which is Vietnamese children following Uncle Ho's teachings and doing thousands of good deeds together. At the same time, the contest is also a place for teachers and students to show their talents and creativity."

The 3rd competition (school year 2022-2023) takes place from December 1, 2022 to March 15, 2023 with 2 categories for individuals and groups.
The contest took place in a short period of time but received enthusiastic response from many students and teachers across the country and achieved extremely impressive results.
The contest received a total of 382 video entries with the theme “Vietnamese children follow Uncle Ho’s teachings” and nearly 150,000 drawings with the theme “Vietnamese children do thousands of good deeds” from 56 provinces and cities across the country. Among them, some provinces had a large number of entries, typically Vinh Phuc (nearly 16,400 paintings), Bac Ninh (nearly 13,500 paintings), Thai Binh (more than 13,200 paintings)…
The entries were sent from schools and a large number of children, many of whom are ethnic minorities, in mountainous and island regions such as Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Quang Binh...
According to the Jury, the paintings participating in this contest all reflected the correct theme, highlighting the richness and diversity of movements and activities that children across the country have been carrying out according to Uncle Ho's 5 teachings.
The contestants’ expressions are very rich, lively, creative, using many different materials. Many paintings have carefully invested ideas and clearly reveal the painting talent of the “young artists”. Some units have outstanding quality paintings such as Hai Phong, Nghe An, Hau Giang, Lam Dong…

In addition, the videos participating in the collective competition also clearly demonstrate the constant efforts and creativity of the schools in successfully organizing and implementing the tasks of the Team and children's movement, and at the same time show the serious investment of each school in the competition.
The Organizing Committee decided to award a total of 16 collective prizes (including 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes, 10 Consolation prizes) and 43 individual prizes (including 1 Special prize, 2 First prizes, 4 Second prizes, 6 Third prizes and 30 Consolation prizes).
With the success and significance that the contest brings; also following the wishes of many parents, teachers, and students across the country, the Organizing Committee will continue to develop a plan to organize the 4th "Uncle Ho with Children - Children with Uncle Ho" contest (school year 2023-2024) with a larger and more diverse scale and form.
