Accordingly, in localities, more supermarkets, shops, and stalls at traditional markets have reopened for business, and trading activities are more vibrant than on the second day of Tet.

Consumer demand for temple and votive paper burning ceremonies

In particular, at supermarkets, the source of goods is abundant and diverse, with stable prices compared to before Tet. At traditional markets, in addition to fruits for the New Year's offerings to pagodas and the burning of votive papers, the items sold are mainly fresh foods (seafood, beef, vegetables).

Compared to the days before Tet (28th - 30th of Tet), the prices of vegetables and fresh flowers at the market generally did not increase much and were equivalent to the second day of Tet. In general, the market moved according to normal rules, there was no shortage of goods, price fever, causing market instability.

Specifically, rice prices range from 22,000 - 38,000 VND/kg; pork prices are commonly at: rump 110,000 - 120,000 VND/kg, pork loin, lean shoulder, and belly from 130,000 - 160,000 VND/kg; grade 1 beef from 250,000 - 280,000 VND/kg; chicken prices from 120,000 - 150,000 VND/kg.

The price of ready-made chicken is 150,000 - 180,000 VND/kg; the price of seafood remains high, equivalent to the market on the 28th and 29th of Tet; tiger prawns (26 - 30 pieces/kg): 450,000 - 600,000 VND/kg; carp, grass carp: 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg...

Vegetables such as kohlrabi, carrots, tomatoes, herbs, cabbage, cauliflower... have increased slightly compared to the days before Tet. Specifically, cabbage is 10,000 - 15,000 VND/plant, kohlrabi: 5,000 VND/root, lettuce: 15,000 - 30,000 VND/kg, tomatoes: 10,000 - 15,000 VND/kg (depending on the locality)...

Popular fruits: oranges from 60,000 - 75,000 VND/kg; Dien grapefruit 20,000 - 25,000 VND/fruit; green-skinned grapefruit 70,000 - 85,000 VND/kg; Cat Chu mango 50,000 - 65,000 VND/kg; dragon fruit 60,000 - 90,000 VND/kg; watermelon 25,000 - 30,000 VND/kg...

Processed foods have stable prices. For example, the common price of pork roll is 150,000 - 180,000 VND/kg; beef roll 280,000 - 300,000 VND/kg; banh chung 50,000 - 70,000 VND/piece.

Fresh flowers also have stable prices compared to the second day of Tet and before Tet: roses (with branches): about 10,000 - 15,000 VND/branch; regular roses: 70,000 - 90,000 VND/dozen; large chrysanthemums: 80,000 - 100,000 VND/dozen; lilies 250,000 - 350,000 VND/dozen...

The Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that on the fourth day of Tet, many supermarkets, convenience stores, traditional markets and grocery stores will start to open more stores, with more diverse products on sale. Consumer demand has not increased much, mainly for food.

Tet consumption is vibrant, prices are stable

In a general assessment of the Tet market, the ministry said the market is quite vibrant, with a variety of food groups, cakes, jams, candies, wine, beer, soft drinks, fruits, display items such as flowers, ornamental plants, decorations, with prices that do not fluctuate abnormally...

From the 20th of Tet (January 19), purchasing power for fresh food groups began to increase (to serve the Ong Cong and Ong Tao ceremony, many families worship early on the weekend before December 23).

Spring fairs, agricultural and food fairs, Tet markets, flower markets... are organized.

From the 26th of Tet (the beginning of the Tet holiday early), the market has become more vibrant. The demand for purchasing industrial food products such as cakes, jams, candies, beer, soft drinks, etc. has increased.

For fresh food items, demand increased the most on the 28th and 29th of Tet. Compared to the same period last year, purchasing power this year increased.

In the first days of the year, there were very few trading activities, people mainly went to wish a happy new year and go to pagodas. Some convenience stores of the Circle K supermarket chain and Aeon supermarket, distribution systems, convenience stores, and business households have reopened for sale.

However, the demand for goods is not high and mainly focuses on green vegetables, fruits, fresh foods and items for worship.

Due to the abundant supply, meeting consumer demand, and low purchasing power, prices of most items remain stable compared to the days before Tet. The market is generally stable, there is no shortage of goods, price fever, and supply is always guaranteed.
