This information was cited by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Hoai An, Chairman of the Council of Vietnam Aviation Academy in his report at a series of international scientific conferences, aviation science forums and 2023 aviation exhibitions opening today in Ho Chi Minh City.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Hoai An said that Vietnam's aviation market is also the market with the best recovery rate in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Hoai An, in recent years, despite facing many difficulties in the general global context when continuously affected by the pandemic, economic and social instability in the regions, the Vietnamese aviation industry has still maintained its position as a country with the highest level of aviation security and safety in the region.
At the same time, Vietnam Airlines is also considered to have the best air transport service with the event that Vietnam Airlines was honored by APEX as a "5-star international airline".
To achieve this result, businesses and organizations operating in the civil aviation industry have made great efforts. However, in the context of many fluctuations in the world, the aviation industry also needs to change and transform to keep up with the general trend.
On September 11, the International Scientific Conference, Aviation Science Forum and Air Show 2023 took place in Ho Chi Minh City.
Faced with opportunities and challenges, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has set out a transformation orientation for Vietnam's civil aviation. The important goal of the aviation industry is to access and apply advanced and modern technology, convert from using fossil energy to green energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in civil aviation activities.
In addition, it is necessary to develop environmental protection policies, promote innovation models, scientific research programs, apply 4.0 technology in the field of environmental protection as well as ensure environmental security in the civil aviation industry.
At the same time, develop policies to develop green aviation infrastructure, ensure economic efficiency and environmental protection, contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing resilience to climate change and rising sea levels.
In addition, the Vietnamese aviation industry also aims to implement a program to develop environmentally friendly vehicles at airports, including electric vehicles, developing green logistics centers, green ports, applying new technologies and new energies to replace traditional fuels for vehicles and equipment in aviation operations.
Applying digital technology to optimize the management and operation of aviation infrastructure and air transport activities, ensuring safety, smoothness and reducing energy consumption.
Increase the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to gradually replace traditional aviation fuel on Vietnamese aircraft, aiming to reduce net carbon emissions, in an effort to implement the Prime Minister's commitment at the COP 26 conference to strive to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, domestic airlines are currently very interested in converting to an environmentally friendly direction.
In the coming time, Vietnam Airlines will continue to implement environmentally friendly and climate-friendly activities, ensuring sustainable business operations towards the goal of zero emissions by 2050.
