Sharing the same feelings with the group of scientists, Dinh Van Trung, a 12th grade student at Dien Chau 2 High School, Nghe An, author of the project on a cable car pesticide spraying device, said he was both happy and nervous. "This is the first time I have been to Hanoi, a place I have longed to visit and look forward to the announcement of the program's prize."

Trung met with the authors before the award ceremony, including scientists, which made him feel more clearly the enthusiasm, passion and aspiration of those who love science. "This is probably an extremely memorable feeling for me when coming to the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi," Trung said.

Mr. Luong Van Truong (34 years old) was very excited when he came to Hanoi from Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh. He was looking forward to the sharing from the speakers and scientists at the Conference of Young Scientists.

For Mr. Truong, being able to participate in a large program honoring scientific initiatives that benefit society is a source of pride. He hopes to connect and exchange with many authors and scientists.

As one of the youngest contestants, Tran Thi Quynh (18 years old) from Muong Nhe High School, Muong Nhe District, Dien Bien Province, along with teacher Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung, arrived in Hanoi a day early to be on time. Teachers and students from Dien Bien Province eagerly awaited the results and thanked the organizers for "creating the conditions for participating in a truly meaningful event".

At the Hanoi location, members of the Center for 3D Technology in Medicine, VinUni University said that the group is very excited about the Young Scientists Conference. This is the second year that Dr. Pham Trung Hieu and his colleagues at the VinUni 3D Lab group have participated in the program. He said that the event is a place to meet, connect, listen to interesting sharing, new initiatives, and unique ideas from the past year.

"This is an opportunity for the 3D Technology Center in Medicine to contribute the results of the past year, combined with other ideas to bring the country's science to the same level as the world's science and technology powers," said Dr. Hieu, adding that the group also brought products to display at the event space in the hope of spreading them to many people.

The authors all expressed their hope that through the program, manufacturers and consumers will know more about the technology products developed by the research and development groups. Dr. Nguyen Doan Quoc Anh shared that what the competition brings is still modest compared to hundreds of initiatives, ideas, and products from all over the country, but he believes that the competition will become more and more attractive because of its prestige and special meaning.

Interviews with Science Innovators

The 2023 Science Initiative Award Ceremony will take place on the morning of May 17 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology. This is the second year that VnExpress has organized a playground for professional and non-professional scientists with the hope of inspiring creativity and promoting research applications in practice.

This year the prize has been raised to 300 million VND. The entire prize money is sponsored by the Hope Foundation. This is a non-profit social and charitable fund operating for the community, operated by VnExpress Newspaper and FPT Corporation. The fund pursues two goals: supporting difficult circumstances and creating motivation for development. One of the fund's activities is to promote the application of technology, equipping individuals and communities with sustainable development tools, especially equipping knowledge through education.

The program takes place together with the Young Scientist Summit with the theme "For Sustainable Development Goals" with the main session and discussion session. The award ceremony and the Conference will be reported online and livestreamed by VnExpress on the fanpage and other platforms of VnExpress.
