With advantages in terms of transport capacity, cost, and convenience, semi-trailers are becoming a very popular means of transporting goods as the demand for transporting goods, especially cross-border goods, increases today.

Grasping that need, THACO INDUSTRIES has invested in research and production of semi-trailers under the Thaco Trailers brand and gradually expanded to the world market.

Thaco Trailers semi-trailers - strategic step forward

Based on the foundation of industrial production in the field of mechanical engineering and supporting industry, and exploiting the market "space", since 2014, THACO INDUSTRIES has invested in research and production of semi-trailers, supplying domestically and exporting.

To meet the increasing demand, especially to welcome the "wave" of global supply chain shift, in the following years, THACO INDUSTRIES continued to invest in upgrading technology, developing the Thaco Trailers brand with the position of the leading semi-trailer manufacturer in Vietnam.

In 2022, the Group will put into operation THACO INDUSTRIES Semi-Trailer and Heavy Components Manufacturing Company Limited (Thaco Trailers) and invest in a new factory with a capacity of 30,000 products/year, with the most modern equipment system in Southeast Asia.

The factory has a closed and synchronous production process, through the stages of manufacturing details, welding, painting, assembling, testing and investing in a laser cutting system for all mechanical details, semi-trailer frames with high precision. The welding line is equipped with a system of fixtures and automatic welding robots with a reach of up to 2,200 mm, ensuring precise welding at all angles, the welds meet quality and aesthetic standards.

After welding, the chassis frame is automatically shot blasted to clean the surface with quality meeting international standards SA-2.5, then dipped in electrostatic paint (ED) in a 17m long dipping tank. Next, the chassis frame is electrostatically powder coated by automatic paint spraying robots, helping the product surface to be smooth and glossy with high aesthetics.

Semi-trailers are assembled on a fully automatic monorail line with an AGV component supply system, controlling the tightening force throughout the process. Quality is strictly controlled at each stage, before leaving the factory, the product is tested for braking force, overall inspection and actual testing on a test track with diverse terrain.

Currently, Thaco Trailers manufactures and supplies a variety of product configurations including: skeleton semi-trailers, flatbed semi-trailers, box semi-trailers, dump semi-trailers, specialized semi-trailers and semi-trailer components, to best meet customers' individual requirements.

Thaco Trailers semi-trailers are not only a new step in the strategy of expanding the product portfolio, but also a testament to the production capacity and intrinsic value accumulated over more than 20 years of formation and development of THACO INDUSTRIES.

Reaching out to the world market

After investing in product research and development, in 2020, Thaco Trailers exported the first batch of semi-trailers to the US market. Receiving positive feedback on product quality, meeting customer needs, Thaco Trailers constantly improves, enhances quality, diversifies product configurations, penetrates this potential market with large orders, creating momentum to expand business in North American countries (Canada, Mexico).

At the same time, Thaco Trailers continues to produce and supply products suitable for the needs of other markets such as Australia, Japan, Korea... From 2020 to present, Thaco Trailers has exported nearly 13,000 semi-trailers to other countries.
