Mr. Park ChangO, Director of Nonghyup Bank Korea Hanoi Branch, expressed his deep sympathy for the losses suffered by the Vietnamese people after the recent storm No. 3. Mr. Park ChangO added that Vietnam and Korea have many similarities in culture and people, especially the tradition of mutual love and helping each other overcome difficulties and hardships.
“We hope that this money will help people affected by storms and floods to quickly overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. This will also be a bridge to strengthen the bond between the people of the two countries,” said Mr. Park.
Together with teachers and students, coming to the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to donate more than 100 million VND, Ms. Luu Thi Hang, Vice Principal of Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Ha Dong, Hanoi) said that bringing the hearts of the school, teachers, parents and students to the people affected by storms and floods has been a great desire in recent times.
"The amount of money may not be much, but it is the sentiment and sharing of the parents, students and school. We hope that the Vietnam Fatherland Front will transfer this amount to the affected schools and students in difficult circumstances in the flood-hit areas so that they can go to school soon," Ms. Luu Thi Hang expressed.
Sharing more, Ms. Phan Thi Le Hang, Head of the Le Hong Phong Secondary School's Youth Union, said that the school launched this donation in just 2 days but received a great response from parents and students. In addition to cash donations, the school also mobilized donations of books and clothes to give to students in areas affected by storms and floods through charity groups. This is also an opportunity for the school's students to love, share, understand and show the spirit of mutual love, the rich help the poor.
Immediately after the school launched the donation campaign, Mai Thanh Ha (class 9A1, Le Hong Phong Secondary School) and her fellow students unanimously responded to the donation.
"We feel very lucky to have the opportunity to contribute a small part to our fellow countrymen and students in the flood-hit areas. Our biggest wish is that this money will be transferred to schools and students who are still facing difficulties. We hope that they will soon be able to go to school and continue their studies," Mai Thanh Ha shared.
Presenting the donation of VND2 billion, Mr. Tran Minh Triet, Deputy General Director of Heineken Vietnam Brewery Company Limited, expressed that through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the support money was allocated to areas affected by the recent storm No. 3. In addition to this immediate donation, the company also mobilized its staff to contribute and directly support people in disaster-affected areas, especially in Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces. In addition, Mr. Triet also expressed his wish to continue researching models of livelihood development for people affected by natural disasters with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to provide long-term and sustainable support after the disaster.
Leaving home at 2am from Tien Giang to Ho Chi Minh City to take the earliest flight to Hanoi, arriving at the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to directly hand over the donation of 20 million VND, Ms. Chin (Tien Giang) could not hide her emotions.
“Hearing from the South that our compatriots in the North are being severely affected by storms and floods, our family feels extremely sad. The loss that our compatriots in the North have suffered is too great. I cried a lot when receiving daily information from our compatriots in the Northern provinces after storm No. 3. This small amount of money that our family wishes to share with our compatriots is our sentiment and our heart. We hope that our compatriots will soon overcome this loss and return to normal life,” Ms. Chin tearfully shared during the reception.
On behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee and all people affected by storm No. 3, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy expressed his sincere thanks to the hearts of agencies, organizations, individuals as well as international friends who joined hands to support people to have more resources to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 3.
“In the past few days, each person has spent part of their income to send to the people in the flood areas. These are precious hearts and deep feelings. Those who have a lot contribute a lot, those who have little contribute a little. This will create great strength for the people in the flood areas to have more motivation to rebuild their lives,” Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy emphasized.
According to Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy, initial statistics show that storm No. 3 has caused over 40 trillion VND in damage. Therefore, from the amount received, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee will publicly and transparently distribute the support resources and allocate them in batches to the provincial and municipal Relief Mobilization Committees to provide timely support, at the right address, to the right people in the areas that are suffering heavy damage from storms and floods, and to soon stabilize production and business.
Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy hopes that these acts of kindness will continue to spread strongly in the coming time so that people in difficult circumstances have more motivation to rise up in life.
