Recently, garden ecotourism with interesting experiences is attracting many tourists to Binh Thuan. This type of tourism not only contributes to enriching tourism products, helping tourists understand more about local crops but also contributes to promoting regional specialties, increasing income for farmers in rural areas.

Agritourism is on the rise

When coming to Binh Thuan, tourists who want to visit the agricultural tourism model will often be introduced to Da Mi (Ham Thuan Bac) - considered the "capital" of durian, avocado, mangosteen, macadamia ... or visit the high-tech agricultural area of Binh An (Ham Thuan Nam) with gardens of melons, grapes, fruit trees grown using organic methods, safe and qualified for export. In addition, tourists can also visit the vineyards and apples grown in greenhouses in Phong Phu, Phuoc The (Tuy Phong district). In addition, many localities in the province have developed tourist destinations associated with potential product chains and advantages such as: Tanh Linh with a chain of cashew nuts, snakehead fish, and various types of fine art wooden products; Bac Binh with product chains such as one-sun-dried beef, melons, and monitor lizard meat; Tuy Phong with product chains such as grapes, La Gan bird chili, and tragacanth gum; Duc Linh tourism is associated with activities to experience the production of Dong Ha green-skinned grapefruit, Ro Mo durian...

The type of experiential tourism in the garden, watching farmers instructing on techniques for growing plants as well as harvesting fruits in the garden is being enjoyed and chosen by the majority of tourists when coming to a certain locality. Recently, in Hoa Thang commune - Bac Binh district, tourists experiencing the Jeep tour to watch the sunrise or sunset will be able to check in at a few new locations on the Bau Trang sightseeing route. In particular, it is necessary to mention the experiential tourism product at the vineyard and dragon fruit garden at Vy Vy Farm. These days, Vy Vy Farm attracts a lot of domestic and foreign tourists to visit when passing by the road to Bau Trang. Coming here, tourists can visit, take pictures, enjoy products made from grapes, dragon fruit and experience picking fruits right in the garden.

The first wine growing region

Mr. Duong Minh Quang - Owner of Vy Vy Farm vineyard shared: “Initially, we mainly planted experimentally and sold grapes to traders in and outside the province. We planted Japanese rose, peony, bailey grapes and grew them according to clean and safe standards. After a while, by 2022, locals as well as tourists taking jeep tours to visit Bau Trang came to visit and take pictures. Seeing that, we developed it into an experiential tourism model creating landscapes for visitors to take pictures, check in, and have fun. In addition to grape trees, the garden also has 300 dragon fruit, apple and Taiwanese guava pillars that are in the process of bearing fruit. After April is the peak season, the garden attracts about 300 visitors every day, and on holidays, New Year's Eve, and weekends, the number of visitors fluctuates around 1,000 people, of which more than 90% are Korean visitors."

Many tourists come to visit when passing the road to Bau Trang.

Ms. Nguyen Lan Phuong - a tourist in Ho Chi Minh City said: "Seeing information about the garden on Facebook, when having the opportunity to travel to Mui Ne, my family stopped by to visit. The children really enjoyed seeing with their own eyes each bunch of grapes full of fruit, hanging on the branches, immersing themselves in the green space full of sunshine and wind. Although the garden is still wild, I think the dragon fruit season, or the guava and apple gardens when they are ready to harvest, will attract a lot of tourists to experience it."

In addition to grapes, the garden also grows dragon fruit, guava, and apples to meet the increasing demand of tourists.

However, in reality, some rural tourism and garden tourism models are still spontaneous and limited. Some localities face difficulties in planning and investment; the models are still small, spontaneous, unprofessional, with unsystematic investment, not diverse, and have not created attractive tourism products based on potential advantages to attract tourists.

In recent times, Binh Thuan has been promoting the development of rural tourism associated with promoting the potential and advantages of agriculture, craft villages, culture and ecological environment of localities. The province will continue to focus on investing in infrastructure, supporting training and coaching on tourism knowledge and skills for rural people, implementing pilot models of garden tourism... Only then will agricultural tourism be attractive, have highlights, contribute to sustainable tourism development, and at the same time bring new nuances and vitality to rural areas.
