The Mai Vang Award organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper is an annual award nominated and voted by readers, for individuals, groups of artists, works, television programs - digital platforms in the year (from December of the previous year to the end of November of the following year) that are most loved by the public - readers of the newspaper.

The 30th Golden Apricot Award nomination round - 2024 takes place from September 15 to November 25, 2024. Based on the actual cultural and artistic activities during the year and the level of public interest of readers of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the Organizing Committee of the 30th Golden Apricot Award - 2024 has decided on 14 nomination categories, including:

MUSIC:

1. Most favorite male singer - rapper.

2. Most favorite female singer.

3. Most favorite song.

4. Most favorite MV (music video ).

STAGE:

5. Most favorite stage actor.

6. Most favorite stage actress.

7. Most favorite comedian.

8. Most favorite stage play.

MOVIE - TELEVISION:

9. Most favorite film and television actor.

10. Most favorite film and television actress.

11. Most favorite movie.

12. Most favorite TV series.

PROGRAMME:

13. Most favorite MC.

14. TV shows - the most popular digital platform.

After the nomination round ends, if any category receives too few nominations from readers, the Steering Committee of the 30th Golden Apricot Awards - 2024 and the Arts Council will consider whether to keep or remove that category, not including it in the voting round.

The 30th Golden Apricot Award nomination round - 2024 takes place on the following media: Nguoi Lao Dong electronic newspaper (nld.com.vn) and Mai Vang website (maivang.nld.com.vn). Readers access Nguoi Lao Dong electronic newspaper or Mai Vang website to receive nomination forms, then follow the instructions on the screen.

The 30th Golden Apricot Award voting round - 2024 will take place from December 4, 2024 to January 3, 2025. The Organizing Committee will provide specific instructions on the detailed method before the voting round. The Organizing Committee will base on the actual number of votes from readers in each category, together with the Arts Council to vote for the top 5 candidates (ordered from 01 to 05) to get the results. If the readers' voting results coincide with the Arts Council's, then that result will be announced. In case of a large difference, the Organizing Committee will consult the Steering Committee and the Arts Council will decide.

The 30th Golden Apricot Award Art Council - 2024 was decided to be established by the Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, with members including famous artists and prestigious experts.

In addition to the 14 categories mentioned above, the 30th Golden Apricot Awards - 2024 also has the following awards:

- "Artist for the Community 2024" Award (or "Community Program/Project").

- Award for "Outstanding Cultural and Artistic Works of 2024" (including works on literature, painting and photography).

These awards are not voted on, but will be submitted to professional associations for comments before being submitted to the Art Council for consideration. The final results will be decided by the Editorial Board - Steering Committee of the 30th Mai Vang Award - 2024.

The 30th Golden Apricot Awards Ceremony - 2024 and the 30th Anniversary Golden Apricot Awards Gala will be combined into one program, taking place on the night of January 8, 2025 at the City Theater (HCMC). The awards ceremony and gala will be broadcast live by Vietnam Television on VTV9; and the Lao Dong Newspaper will report online on its platforms.

Instructions on how to nominate

This year's nomination process has changed compared to last year: Readers must register an account on Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to be able to submit nominations.

Readers can access https://maivang.nld.com.vn or click on the banner "Invite readers to nominate for the 2024 Mai Vang Award" on the homepage of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (nld.com.vn) and log in. If you forget your password, click on the "Forgot password" button to reset it.

To submit a nomination, readers need to have at least 5 points (equivalent to 5,000 VND) in their account. Readers can choose to top up points by clicking the "Top up more points" button and choosing from available packages or freely entering the number of points they want to top up their account, then following the instructions on the screen.

In the payment method selection step, readers choose MoMo, ZaloPay, Internet Banking app via Napas gateway; or pay via QR code scanning by choosing Ngan Luong gateway.

Once you have at least 5 points in your account, select the category you want to nominate and enter the name of your favorite artist, work or program. Then, enter the total number of votes you predict (to be considered for a prize) and click the "Submit nomination" button to submit.

Readers can nominate their favorite artists, works or programs in one or more categories in the fields of music, theater, cinema - television, and programs. In each category, each reader can only nominate once per day for an individual, group of artists, works or programs.

Prizes for readers participating in nominations include: 1 first prize: 5 million VND; 1 second prize: 3 million VND; 1 third prize: 2 million VND and 10 consolation prizes: 1 million VND/prize.

The winning ticket is the ticket with nominations in the voting list announced by the Organizing Committee; the prediction of the number of votes participating in the nomination is closest to the total number of votes nominated on the electronic newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong, the mobile version of Nguoi Lao Dong. The winning reader will be responsible for income tax according to the law.
