On October 3, the Ministry of Health organized a technology transfer program from central hospitals to Bac Kan General Hospital.

At the same time, at Cao Thuong Commune Health Station and Khang Ninh Commune Health Station, Ba Be District, Bac Kan Province, the working delegation of the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Young Physicians Association organized medical examinations, provided free medicine and gave gifts to more than 1,000 people.

With the participation of more than 60 doctors and nurses, more than 1,000 people in the two communes received free health check-ups and screening tests including general internal medicine, gastroenterology and dermatology, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, basic blood tests, free medicine and gifts. The total estimated value of the donation program is 1.8 billion VND.

Attending the program, Mr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, said that the program of free medical examination and treatment and technology transfer to hospitals in ethnic minority areas is not only a medical program to support overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, but also demonstrates the humane meaning, concern and sharing of the whole society.

This is also a commitment in the continuous effort to improve the quality of life and health of ethnic minority communities, who often face many challenges in accessing quality health services.

Organizing community health screening and care programs will help health workers and people quickly stabilize and overcome the consequences of storms and floods, while creating conditions for people, especially those in difficult circumstances, to access quality health services.

The free medical examination and medicine distribution program in Bac Kan is part of the "Journey of young doctors following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health" campaign launched by the Vietnam Young Doctors Association in May 2024. The program has been and is being implemented nationwide, with the desire to reach and support more than 1 million people nationwide.
