“At that time, I was still very young, just out of school, so I didn’t have much experience and was confused in finding ideas and solutions to organize Youth Union activities in school. In the first few months, I was enthusiastically guided and encouraged by the teachers at the school. I also tried to learn more from my colleagues who worked as youth assistants in neighboring schools. Thanks to that, I gained more knowledge and experience to effectively implement Youth Union programs and activities and create excitement for students,” said the teacher who won many gold medals in athletics. As a former track and field athlete and physical education teacher, Mr. Lam is always aware that training students’ health plays a very important role. Mr. Lam regularly organizes sports competitions such as: men’s and women’s soccer; Tug of war, volleyball, Judo, flashmob (group dancing) and art programs... According to Mr. Lam, organizing healthy sports competitions for students helps improve health and create solidarity and team spirit.

Students will have more skills to overcome difficulties, prevent drowning, adapt to the social environment, work in groups... From there, build a healthy, disciplined lifestyle for students. These are the things I have been oriented to since I was studying at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education", said Mr. Lam. After working for the Youth Union at Nguyen Du High School, Mr. Lam gradually became more confident, bold and dynamic. In addition to the movement activities within the school, Mr. Lam also organized for students to participate in volunteer programs for the community... This helps students understand human values and have the opportunity to do many useful things for society. It is these colors that have colored my youth in the process of experiencing and dedicating myself to growing up. Through programs and activities with the Youth Union, each young person gradually becomes more confident, bold, dynamic and mature over the years. The Youth Union is a place that creates conditions for young people to participate in community programs and volunteer work.
