The journey from the mountainous district of Nam Tra My to Tam Ky city is more than 80km long, with many dangerous mountain and forest roads. After about 3 hours of travel, Mr. Phuong brought the children safely to Quang Nam Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.
At around 6:15 a.m. on March 7, Mr. Phuong returned to Nam Tra My district to rest. However, because many other students needed to be transferred to the hospital, he continued his journey to take them and their relatives to Tam Ky city.
On the afternoon of March 7, Mr. Phuong continued to transport 8 students and their relatives on the free bus and shared with Dan Tri reporter about his journey.
Mr. Phuong said that in recent weeks, many children and students in Tra Don commune have had high fevers. Medical staff and teachers promptly detected and took the children to the emergency room.
