Teacher burst into tears during farewell ceremony for final year students

Recently, a clip has been circulating on social media recording a teacher who was moved to tears during his last class farewell to his senior students. The scene of the clip is the last class of Literature.

In the clip, the teacher was both moved and confessed that he had a lot of affection for his class and his students. “I don’t expect you to get high scores in my subjects, I just hope you all graduate. In the future, no matter what kind of person you become, remember me,” the teacher said.

The teacher also hopes to be a part of the students' memories. He also does not forget to remind the students to try hard for the final exam, for the 12 years of studying; try hard for yourself, for the teachers and for everyone who is expecting from you.

Through investigation, the teacher in the clip is Nguyen Hoang Huy, a Literature teacher at Khanh An Secondary and High School (An Phu Hamlet, Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, Ca Mau Province). The clip was recorded in late June 2024 and is still receiving many shares.

Speaking to VietNamNet , Mr. Huy said that it was the last Literature lesson he taught for the 2024 high school graduation exam review for his 12C1 class students. The teacher was also surprised when his normal and genuine feelings for his students received attention from everyone.

Mr. Huy is the Literature teacher of class 12C1 and has been with the class for half a year in grade 10 and all year in grade 12. This is also the only grade 12 class that Mr. Huy has taught this past school year. Because of that, teachers and students are very close.

Mr. Huy said that he himself is an emotional person, easily moved, but the events of the last class that day were created by the combination of many factors.

“That day was my last class with class 12C1. The students prepared a small gift for me. They also made a video to save the images and footage between me and the class. Seeing the students’ affection and wishes, I was very touched, could not hold back my emotions and naturally burst into tears,” said Mr. Huy. The students also asked for his signature on their shirts to keep as a souvenir.

Mr. Huy said that he has only been at the school for 2 and a half years. Born in 1998, graduated from the teacher training school, Mr. Huy started his teaching career at Khanh An Secondary and High School. Class 12C1 is only the second batch of 12th graders that he has taught in his career.

“Therefore, I have a lot of affection for the students. Throughout the journey, this class also studied very hard, was lovely, and sometimes mischievous, but mostly just to create a happy atmosphere, never making me sad,” Mr. Huy shared.

The teacher said that after the 2024 high school graduation exam, the students also texted him and gave him feedback on their test-taking ability. “They all said they were able to do the test and did well, so I felt very happy and relieved. However, I also told them that no matter what the exam results were, I would appreciate their efforts and hard work.”
