Failed with the “Made in Vietnam” Social Network, Gapo decided to “remake life” with GapoWork

There are currently more than 600 businesses and nearly 1,000 digital workspaces created on GapoWork. Through a strategic “handshake” with NEWING, Gapo hopes to quickly solve the digital management “pain” of business leaders.

Gapo was quite familiar to many Vietnamese people when it launched the social network of the same name in 2019. This social network attracted a lot of attention with the goal of 50 million users after 3 years of establishment, receiving capital of 500 billion VND at the time of launch.

After less than 2 months of launch, Gapo announced that it had reached 2 million users. However, its popularity has gradually decreased and is now not mentioned much. Since May 2021, Gapo has devoted itself to developing the GapoWork product. CEO of Gapo social network - Mr. Ha Trung Kien, is also CEO of GapoWork.

By early August 2023, the Gapo social network officially stopped operating the version for users in the Vietnamese market. The previous Gapo social network community groups were encouraged to switch to the Gapo social network for businesses (GapoWork) to continue developing the community.

Gapo has just made a strategic “handshake” with NEWING - a new name emerging as a “Training center for corporate culture and leadership development”. This move by Gapo aims to quickly bring GapoWork (digital workspace) to more Vietnamese businesses.

Newing CEO Nguyen Thi Minh Giang was previously known as the Chief Talent and Culture Officer of Mekong Capital. In September 2022, Ms. Minh Giang left this position to start building NEWING.
