Ministry of Education Inspectorate concludes violations at Thuyloi University

Regarding shortcomings, the inspection conclusion of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) stated: Thuy Loi University has not been able to enroll students in the doctoral level of fluid and gas mechanics for 5 consecutive years.

On December 5, 2022, the school also issued a decision to stop training doctoral degrees in this field. In addition, two other doctoral degrees, environmental engineering and water supply and drainage engineering, will not be able to enroll students in 2022 and 2023.

Regarding violations, the master's degree programs in environmental engineering, traffic construction engineering, and hydraulic construction engineering have been determined and announced to have enrollment quotas exceeding the prescribed capacity.

Similar violations will also occur in the water supply and drainage engineering and construction management sectors in 2023.

However, at the time of inspection, this violation had expired according to regulations.

The inspection conclusion also clearly stated the responsibility belongs to the principal, vice principal in charge of admissions and the school's admissions staff.

In addition, the university training regulations of the school stipulate that the regular training time is from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, which is not in accordance with Circular 08 of the Ministry of Education and Training .

The Ministry Inspectorate requested the University of Water Resources to review all internal documents and regulations, promptly amend, supplement, and issue documents within its authority in accordance with the provisions of law and the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition to determining enrollment targets and organizing enrollment in accordance with current regulations, Thuyloi University must review and supplement the teaching staff to meet the requirements in terms of quantity, qualifications and time to ensure the quality of teaching and research.

The inspection conclusion also requires the school to clarify the responsibilities of the school's organizations and individuals for the shortcomings and violations according to regulations.
