On February 23, in Hanoi, Lieutenant General Tran Duc Tuan, Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security, Head of the Asset and Income Control Agency of the Ministry of Public Security chaired a conference to announce the decision to verify the assets and income of people holding positions and powers in the People's Public Security in 2024.

This is the third year that the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security and the Asset and Income Control Agency of the Ministry of Public Security have verified the assets and income of those who are required to declare according to the provisions of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption and Decree 130 of the Government, and this is also a regular annual task based on the general plan approved by the Minister of Public Security.

Implementing the Ministry of Public Security's Plan on inspection work in 2024 of the People's Public Security force, on January 30, 2024, the Ministry of Public Security Inspectorate invited representatives of the leaders of the Central Public Security Party Committee's Inspection Commission to attend, witness and organize a random draw.

Accordingly, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security selected 8 Heads of Departments from the following units to verify assets and income in 2024 of the Asset and Income Control Agency of the Ministry of Public Security: Department of Security Investigation; Office of the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security; Department of Criminal Police; Department of Legislation and Administrative and Judicial Reform; People's Security Academy; Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security; Hospital 199 (1 comrade from each unit).

At the same time, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security also notified the leaders of 8 units and 8 comrades to coordinate implementation.

At the conference, the Head of the Verification Team announced the full text of the Decision of the Anti-Corruption Department, Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security on verifying assets and income in 2024 of people holding positions and powers in the People's Public Security under the authority of the Asset and Income Control Agency of the Ministry of Public Security; disseminated the tasks and powers of the Head of the Verification Team, members of the Verification Team, rights and obligations of the person being verified according to the provisions of law; approved the content of the verification plan approved by the head of the Asset and Income Control Agency of the Ministry of Public Security.

Accordingly, the scope of verification is from the first declaration of assets and income to the annual declaration of assets and income (2023). The verification period is 45 days from the date of announcement of the verification decision (excluding holidays as prescribed).

Representatives of the leaders of the units and individuals being verified expressed their agreement with the decisions and plans that were announced and approved, and affirmed that they would closely coordinate with the Asset and Income Control Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to conduct verifications in accordance with the provisions of law...

Concluding the conference, Lieutenant General Tran Duc Tuan requested the leaders of the 8 units whose people had their assets and income verified to direct timely coordination and provide full relevant information and documents; and direct the comrades who were randomly drawn at the unit to promptly report and provide relevant information and documents to the Verification Team to serve the verification of assets and income to ensure requirements.

For comrades whose assets and incomes are verified in 2024, it is necessary to urgently provide complete and clear information and documents, papers on the origin of their assets and income, and specifically explain the changes in assets between the two declaration periods (if any).
