City: Total production value in 2023 reaches 7.2%

On the afternoon of November 29, the People's Committee of Thai Binh city held a meeting to listen to a report on the results of implementing the socio-economic development tasks in 2023; goals, tasks and solutions for 2024.

Comrade Dinh Gia Dung, Chairman of the City People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

In 2023, despite many difficulties, the city's socio-economic situation has recovered and grown quite well, with 14/21 targets reaching and exceeding the plan. The total production value is estimated at nearly 52,660 billion VND, up 7.2% over the same period, accounting for nearly 25% of the total production value of the province. The investment and business environment continues to improve, ranking first in the competitiveness index of districts and cities for the second year. The total state budget revenue in the area is estimated at more than 2,950 billion VND, reaching 104.6% of the estimate, equal to 108.8% over the same period. Planning work, investment procedures, and construction progress of works and projects are being accelerated. Many important works and projects were completed and put into use such as: Ky Ba Park, Ty Ruou Lake, Ngo Quyen Street... Cultural and social fields achieved comprehensive results, national security and defense were maintained.

Many projects and works are speeding up construction progress.

In 2024, the city strives for a total production value of 9.5% or more; a budget revenue growth rate of 12%; total social investment capital of more than 16,200 billion VND; an urbanization rate of 80.28%; an average income per capita of 85 million VND/person/year; and completion of the proposed criteria to establish 8 communes into wards....

To achieve the above goals, the City People's Committee focuses on attracting investment, mobilizing resources for economic and urban development. Focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles, promoting administrative procedure reform and digital transformation. Speeding up the completion of key economic and social infrastructure construction projects. Comprehensively developing cultural and social fields; well organizing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the town's liberation, the 20th anniversary of the city's establishment and important holidays and anniversaries taking place during the year.
