Dong Trieu City: Meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army

On December 21, the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Dong Trieu City (Quang Ninh) solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

At the meeting, in a warm atmosphere, comrade Nguyen Van Cong, Provincial Party Committee member, City Party Committee Secretary, City Military Party Committee Secretary, spoke to review the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army and 35 years of National Defense Day.

Over the past 80 years, the Vietnam People's Army has affirmed its role as a revolutionary army with the nature of the working class, under the absolute and direct leadership of the Party. From the first 34 soldiers, our Army has developed into a revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually modernized force, ready to protect the independence, sovereignty of the Fatherland, the socialist regime and national interests. That glorious tradition was built by millions of cadres and soldiers, through generations, building the very glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

Authorized by the President, Comrade Nguyen Van Cong, Secretary of Dong Trieu City Party Committee, awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to Colonel Le Tien Thanh, former Commander of the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition of the heroic homeland, with a rich tradition of patriotism and cultural identity; over the past 80 years, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Dong Trieu city have always upheld the revolutionary spirit, solidarity, dynamism, creativity, with the will of self-reliance and self-strengthening, striving to overcome difficulties and challenges, maintain political stability, restore and develop the economy; with innovative thinking and new ways of doing things, they have created a breakthrough in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, improving and gradually enhancing the material and spiritual life of the people.

On behalf of the city's leaders, the Secretary of the City Party Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions of retired military officers in the area; at the same time, he hoped that with their prestige, enthusiasm, and extensive working experience, they would continue to contribute ideas to the Party Committee, government, and armed forces of the city to mobilize all resources, promote socio-economic development, strengthen national defense and security; patriotic emulation movements, local campaigns; coordinate, motivate, and educate the tradition of patriotism, self-reliance, self-reliance, and revolutionary heroism so that the young generation of the city is always worthy of being the next generation to build an increasingly strong national defense posture associated with an increasingly strong people's security posture.
