Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument is located on D1 Hill in the city center and also the center of the relic site. About 50 m high above Muong Thanh field, this is a place that the whole city can see.

Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument is a favorite place for tourists because when climbing up here, you can see the whole city.

The monument was inaugurated on April 30, 2004, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. With a height of 12.6 m, a pedestal of 3.6 m, and a weight of 220 tons, the victory monument complex consists of 3 soldiers standing back to back, holding a Thai ethnic child, on top is the flag of determination to fight and victory.

Hill A1 is located in Muong Thanh ward, the most important stronghold in the French colonial stronghold complex seen from above.

The Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum , which preserves and displays over 1,000 artifacts from the campaign, with the highlight being the Panorama mural recreating the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, is especially attractive to tourists.

A1 Martyrs Cemetery, built in 1958. There are 644 graves of soldiers who died in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. Most of them are nameless, only 4 graves have the names of heroic martyrs To Vinh Dien, Phan Dinh Giot, Be Van Dan, Tran Can.

In 2003, Dien Bien Phu town was recognized as a type III urban area and officially became a city under Dien Bien province. Since then, new projects have been built to help Dien Bien Phu city become more spacious and developed.

A typical example is the martyrs' temple at Dien Bien Phu battlefield, inaugurated in 2021.

Dien Bien Phu Stadium is also being urgently repaired and upgraded. This is the place chosen to hold the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

The new Thanh Binh bridge across the Nam Ron river officially opened to traffic on November 1, 2023.

We cannot forget the historic Muong Thanh Bridge, the bridge that was marked by the tire-sandaled feet of the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army who marched across it, marching straight to the French Command Headquarters on the afternoon of May 7, 1954, capturing General De Castries alive, marking the complete collapse of colonialism on the Dien Bien Phu battlefield. After 70 years of existence, the bridge has been repaired many times, but still retains its original structure. People still cross the historic bridge every day.

Nam Rom River originates from Pu Huoi Luong mountain range (in Thai language, meaning big mountain and stream) in Na Tau commune, Dien Bien Phu city, crossing Muong Thanh valley and is considered the lifeblood of the largest field in the Northwest, bringing a prosperous life to the people.
