Djokovic won with 876 points, surpassing French swimmer Leon Marchand (361 points) and Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen (348 points).

In 2021, Djokovic was also honored by this prestigious French sports newspaper. Tennis players who have been awarded this title include Andre Agassi (1999), Roger Federer (2005, 2006, 2007) and Rafael Nadal (2010, 2013, 2019).

L'Equipe assessed that Djokovic had an extraordinary season, when he participated in all 4 Grand Slam finals in 2023 and won 3 championships. This is the 4th season in his career, Djokovic won 3/4 Grand Slams.

In 2023, Djokovic participated in 12 tournaments and won 7 championships. Nole also reached the milestone of 404 weeks holding the world number one position of the International Tennis Association (ATP).

After winning his 24th Grand Slam, Djokovic is confident heading into the 2024 Australian Open taking place from January 14 to January 28. Nole will compete as the number one seed.

Rafael Nadal (ATP No. 672) is allowed to enter the Australian Open from the first round, thanks to his ranking protection. Dominic Thiem (ATP No. 98) and Emma Raducanu (WTA No. 298) have to compete from the qualifying round.

ATP officially introduced a new scoring system from 2024. The Grand Slam champion still receives 2,000 points, but the runner-up has its bonus points increased from 1,200 to 1,300. The player who wins the ATP Masters 1000 still receives 1,000 points, while the runner-up receives 650 points, 50 points more than previous years.
