On the afternoon of October 23, U17 Yemen defeated U17 Myanmar with a score of 6-1 in the opening match of Group I of the 2025 AFC U17 qualifiers.
With superior class, U17 Yemen quickly scored 2 goals in just the first 11 minutes. In the 3rd minute, from a cross from the left wing by his teammate, center back Mohammed Al-Garash rushed in and finished low, opening the score for U17 Yemen.
The second goal also came from the left wing. Taking advantage of a difficult cross, Esam Al-Sakkaf shot into the Myanmar U17 net when he had an empty goal in front of him.
Just having time to calm down, U17 Myanmar had to play with one less man in the first half. Bhone Myat Thu fouled a U17 Yemen player, preventing the opponent from having a clear chance to score. Referee Khorkashev Amirjon gave Myat Thu a red card.
Playing with one more player, U17 Yemen scored 4 more goals in the second half. The most impressive of these was a long-range shot by center back Al-Garash.
In the 58th minute, he completed his double with a long-range shot from more than 30 meters away. The ball flew with great force, hitting the U17 Myanmar goal, leaving goalkeeper Shine Htet Kyaw helpless.
