"Child prodigy" Do Nhat Nam, the youngest translator in Vietnam at the age of 7, is now a 22-year-old man. Time passes but Nam remains the same, still as talented as ever.
"Wow! Unbelievable"
Let's briefly summarize this talented Gen Z guy. When he was only 7 years old, Nam passed the Cambridge University Starter, Mover and Flyer certificates with a perfect score of 15/15. At the same time, he achieved a TOEIC score of 940/990, TOEFL ITP score of 617, TOEFL iBT score of 99.
Also at the age of 7, Nam achieved the record of being the youngest translator in Vietnam. This was also the time when the title "child prodigy" was attached to Nam. At the age of 11, Nam was the youngest autobiographer in Vietnam. At the age of 13, Nam became an international student at Church Farm School (Pennsylvania, USA). During that time, Nam achieved many admirable achievements and received a congratulatory letter from former President Barack Obama with the content: "Congratulations on winning the US President's Education Award".
At the age of 17, Do Nhat Nam was admitted to Pomona College (USA) with a scholarship of about 6.6 billion VND/4 years of study... Nam also passed the ACT American College Testing, making it into the list of students with the highest scores at Johns Hopkins University, USA.
Most recently, when he was about to turn 22, Nam continued to make many people admire him when he was awarded full scholarships for doctoral studies from 6 universities in the US: Cornell, Chicago, Washington, California Los Angeles, California - Santa Barbara, Southern California. In addition, Nam also passed the master's program of two universities: Dartmouth and Cambridge.
From the US, Nam shared with Thanh Nien reporter: "Honestly, up to now, after knowing the news for a while, I still... find it a bit hard to believe. Especially when the last day of the results announcement was approaching, I received an acceptance letter from the University of Chicago. If I had to say exactly how I felt, it would be: Wow! I can't believe it."
"I decided to choose the University of Southern California and will study comparative literature. I will enroll at the school next August," Nam shared.
Asked why it was the University of Southern California and not another school, Nam said: "This is the school I went to for a direct interview. I still remember that about half an hour after leaving school, while on the bus, I received an acceptance letter and a scholarship from the principal. It was a scholarship that was rarely awarded to registered students. Perhaps that impression was one of the reasons why I chose this school."
