"Genie" Nguyen Van Cu raised his 1-ground-floor, 3-story house on Cho Lon Street 1.2 meters high to prevent flooding.
On June 10, Mr. Nguyen Van Cu, who is known as the "genie" for his talent in moving and raising "huge" structures, was present in District 6 (HCMC) to directly direct and supervise the construction of raising a house with a structure of 1 ground floor, 3 floors on Cho Lon Street to a height of 1.2 meters to prevent flooding.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cu said: "District 6, Ho Chi Minh City has long been a flood center in the city. Every rainy season, the water in this area rises, greatly affecting the lives and activities of the people. This house has a structure of 1 ground floor, 3 floors, with a floor area of over 122 m2. Although many religious buildings have been relocated and raised to higher levels with higher difficulty, it can be said that this is a fairly large housing project that I have undertaken to raise because of its large weight, up to 1,000 tons."
This house at 43 Cho Lon Street was built nearly 20 years ago. Now some parts have deteriorated, business is not possible, and living is even very difficult.
According to "genie" Nguyen Van Cu, this house at 43 Cho Lon Street was built nearly 20 years ago, and now some parts have deteriorated, making it impossible to do business, even making living very difficult, and many items in the house are waterlogged and moldy. The previous homeowner had raised the floor to prevent flooding, but it still didn't work, so he decided to ask the "genie" to raise the entire house to prevent flooding.
From the start of construction to completion, the construction time was about 3 months. Up to now, the 3-storey house has been completely upgraded, without any incidents affecting the quality of the project.
With 20 years of experience in the field of anti-sink, anti-tilt and construction relocation, "genie" Nguyen Van Cu has carried out a series of projects to raise and relocate religious buildings, relics and villas in many regions across the country.
