More fun

Every evening, if the weather is favorable, the Khuc Thua Du Temple yard in Kien Phuc Commune (Ninh Giang) is filled with the laughter of members of the local Volleyball Club. Since Kien Quoc Commune merged with Hong Phuc Commune to form Kien Phuc Commune, the club has had a number of new members from villages in the old Hong Phuc Commune participating. Competitions between teams from each village are also held more frequently. With more members and regular practice, the commune's volleyball team is stronger than before.

Mr. Tran Van Nam, a member of the Cuc Bo village volleyball team, shared: "Along with organizing exchanges between villages in the commune, we also gathered forces to exchange with some other communes. Before, when we were in different communes, everyone was still hesitant, but now that we are in the same commune, everyone is the same, no longer hesitant in communicating and practicing."

Since Thach Loi commune merged into Cam Giang town (Cam Giang), many community activities and movements in the locality have also flourished. Held in mid-March, this year's Thach Loi Communal House Festival has many new features compared to previous years. Thanks to the participation of many art and sports clubs in residential areas and villages in the old Cam Giang town, the festival activities have become richer and more vibrant. If before the festival was "private" to Thach Loi commune, now it is "public" to Cam Giang town. The main festival day is not on Sunday, but many people in the hamlet and outside the village gather to attend and have fun.

"Thanks to the cooperation of the Party Committee, government, organizations and the participation of a large number of people, this year's Thach Loi Communal House Festival is more joyful and exciting. Many people commented that the ceremony and festival are of better quality," said Mr. Vu Lenh Vy, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee.

Many movements flourish

According to Mr. Do Minh Nam, Secretary of the Youth Union of Gia Phuc commune (Gia Loc), after merging Gia Tan and Gia Khanh communes into Gia Phuc commune, the Youth Union's activities in the new commune have many more advantages.

The number of Youth Union branches has increased, and more Youth Union members have participated in activities organized by the Youth Union. In particular, when the two communes became one, it created favorable conditions for cadres and Youth Union members to exchange, learn from each other's experiences, and promote good models and creative ways of doing things in the new unit. Typically, on the occasion of Tet At Ty, the Commune Youth Union organized a program to make and sell lucky money to raise funds. Youth Union members in the commune sold more than 1,000 lucky money envelopes. With the proceeds, the Commune Youth Union coordinated with schools to present 15 Tet gifts to students in difficult circumstances. During Youth Month, Gia Phuc Commune Youth Union organized a large-scale, systematic Youth Football Tournament, creating a useful playground and strengthening solidarity among ministries, civil servants and units in the commune.

"Promoting solidarity when merging communes creates favorable conditions for the commune's Youth Union to carry out larger-scale activities, attract a large number of union members to participate and strengthen the organization's collective strength," Mr. Nam shared.

These days, organizations in Ky Son commune (Tu Ky) are propagating and mobilizing land clearance to implement the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Construction Investment Project and the Provincial Road 391 Upgrade Project. In the commune, there is a family eligible for support to build a house, which is also actively supported by local organizations to speed up the progress and is about to be completed.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Sang, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son commune, said: "After more than 4 months of merging from Tai Son and Ngoc Ky communes, up to now, all activities of local organizations have been unified, without distinction between old and new communes. Cadres, party members, and people are all stable in ideology, unified, and united for the common work."

New commune, new spirit. Coming to many other newly merged localities in Hai Duong, what we feel is that cadres, party members and people all clearly see the benefits of the policy of rearranging administrative units at the commune level. Everyone is also ready to unite, highly agree, and proactively adapt to changes when continuing to rearrange communes, wards and towns for the homeland to develop further.
