The overpass at the intersection of National Highway 8 at the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project is being paved with asphalt by Dai Hiep Company Limited and the approach road to the bridge to open to traffic in the coming days.
On December 26, taking advantage of the dry weather after a long period of heavy rain and low temperatures, Dai Hiep Company Limited paved the asphalt concrete surface of the overpass at the intersection of National Highway 8 and the access roads to both ends of the bridge to open to traffic in the next 2 days.
Engineer Vuong Dao Chau - Dai Hiep Company Limited informed that bad weather has greatly affected the construction progress of the unit. The overpass at the intersection of National Highway 8 is being prioritized by the unit to be able to open to traffic in the next 2 days. Currently, the unit has paved the bridge surface and is paving the approach roads to both ends of the bridge.
The opening of the overpass at the National Highway 8 intersection will reduce the load on the service road serving the previous project construction.
The surface of the Highway 8 overpass was paved with C12.5 asphalt concrete a few days earlier. According to engineer Chau, the reason why the pavement could not be paved seamlessly to open the bridge early was due to bad weather, which did not meet the requirements for paving.
The bridge railing system had been installed by workers earlier. This is an item that is not affected by the weather.
The asphalt paving of the approach roads to both ends of the bridge will be completed today (December 27).

Engineers supervise the asphalt rolling to ensure the quality of the road surface leading up to the bridge.
The overpass at the National Highway 8 intersection, along with the Hung Duc Bridge (crossing the Lam River, connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces) and the rest stop are three important projects of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway through Ha Tinh.
At the road leading to the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway roundabout, the construction unit is currently filling in sand; the box culvert system has been completed. It is expected to be technically open to traffic in May 2024. If the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway is completed as planned, from May 2024, Ha Tinh people when going to Hanoi and the northern provinces and cities, can go from National Highway 8 to the intersection, then can get on the expressway.
The North-South Eastern Expressway Project, phase 2017-2020, Dien Chau - Bai Vot section, has a total length of more than 49km, passing through 3 districts in Nghe An province (44.4km) and Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province (4.9km), is one of three component projects invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). In the phased phase, the project scale is 4 lanes, the roadbed width is 17m, the roadbed width for the deep excavation and embankment sections is 32.25m. In the completed phase, the project will be invested in a scale of 6 lanes, the roadbed width is 32.25m. The project has a total investment capital of more than 11,157 billion VND in the phase, of which the capital mobilized by investors is 5,090 billion VND, and the State capital participating in the project is more than 6,067 billion VND. The project started in 2021 and is expected to be completed in May 2024. The operating time to recover capital is 16 years, 6 months, 8 days. |
