These are the noisy incidents related to lecturers at universities and colleges in 2024.
Lecturer of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music threw phone at Luu Thien Huong
The incident happened in early 2024. On her personal page, musician Luu Thien Huong "accused" Master, Meritorious Artist H. - a colleague at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music - of throwing a phone at her.

Along with that, the female musician shared a short clip of just a few seconds recording a woman holding a phone and throwing it hard at her.
Luu Thien Huong said that Ms. H's behavior in the clip stemmed from a professional conflict with her.
Immediately afterwards, the Board of Directors of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music held a meeting about the incident. The meeting members found that the behavior of lecturer MH (the person who threw the phone in the clip posted by musician Luu Thien Huong) was wrong and lacked the standards of a teacher.
This lecturer also admitted that his behavior was uncontrolled and inappropriate.
The Board of Directors of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music agreed to reprimand the female lecturer accused of throwing a phone at musician Luu Thien Huong as well as organize a mediation to resolve the misunderstanding between the two parties.

A week later, Luu Thien Huong's media representative confirmed that the female musician had submitted a resignation letter from the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music in both her roles as a lecturer and expert.
The female musician's decision to quit her job came from her desire to rest and stabilize her mind after the controversy.
Doctor accused by colleague of "not contributing anything to the book"
At the end of November 2024, Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang, Director of the Institute of Sports Science and Management, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology (UMT), was accused by a former colleague of violating intellectual property related to the book A Unified System Fitness Design (USFD).

After the launch of the USFD book in Vietnam, Mr. Oliver Napila Gomez posted on Facebook accusing Ms. Nguyen Tra Giang of violating intellectual property rights when she was the first author of the USFD book.

This person claims to be the author of the book USFD published by Routledg. His former boss at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology, Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang, is a co-author.
On his personal page, Mr. Oliver Napila Gomez said that he was manipulated to give up the first authorship of the book to transfer it to Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang, even though Ms. Giang "did not contribute anything to the book".
In response to this accusation, author Nguyen Tra Giang sent a petition to the management agencies and affirmed that she was the main author of the book USFD, and Mr. Oliver Napila Gomez was the co-author.
Regarding the incident, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology informed that at the time the book USFD was released on September 24, author Nguyen Tra Giang and Mr. Oliver Napila Gomez were working at Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology and there were no disputes arising related to the book.
Mr. Oliver Napila Gomez had voluntarily resigned and officially stopped working at the school before. Then the dispute over the above book arose.
The school also said it is carefully reviewing and evaluating information with the highest responsibility and professionalism; actively working with relevant parties to obtain accurate information.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology decided to temporarily suspend Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang from work and position after receiving many accusations from individuals about Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang and this information is affecting the reputation of the school. The school needs to verify and clarify related issues.
During the suspension period, Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang is temporarily absent from work at the school. The school also requires that during the suspension period, Dr. Giang is not allowed to contact students or parents.
Lecturer terminated for insensitive criticism
In late August 2024, a college decided to terminate its contract with an LVMD instructor.
The incident originated on August 10, after submitting the exam for the color subject, graphic design major, student NKL (class GD1807) received a score of 0 from lecturer MD because of using AI, not being able to edit the exam according to the lecturer's instructions, leading to the quality of the exam being no different from the quality of the previous exam.
After students questioned their grades in a class chat group, the instructor sent messages criticizing the students' work.
According to parents, this made students feel ashamed in front of their friends and sad and cry.
On August 13, parents went to the school and met with school representatives to "request an assessment of the quality of the teachers."
On August 15, the school established a review board to review the student's exam and concluded that the exam scored 5 points.
After deciding to terminate the contract with LVMD lecturer, the school's principal commented that this decision was hasty, did not meet the legal basis, and lacked academic merit.
On the same morning, the Board of Directors and school leaders met and worked with LVMD lecturers.
After discussing and considering the matter and the lecturer's personal wishes, the parties involved have reached an agreement that the LVMD lecturer will continue to teach at the school.
