Students enjoy "shopping" at the free booth

Ms. Bui Thi Lan, Vice Principal and Head of the Red Cross Association of Nguyen Du Secondary School, said that for many years the school has had a tradition of mutual love, with many programs and activities to help students in difficult circumstances. Among them, the model of a non-uniform booth serving students with the motto "Let those who need it take just enough - Those who have enough in their cupboards, share here" is very effective.

Students choose school supplies at the booth

Since the beginning of the school year, the school's Red Cross Association has called on parents and teachers to contribute to the charity fund; students of all classes who have new and old clothes, notebooks, and unused school supplies should bring them to support the free stall. This school year, the Red Cross Association has received the attention, support, and companionship of parents, sponsors, and students of the entire school, so the free stall is very diverse and has an abundant source of goods.

Choose pens and notebooks freely

More specifically, this year's free stall was held on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival in a new school that was put into use at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, so the atmosphere was more joyful and bustling. Not only students came to the free stall, but many parents also came to choose clothes for their children. During the day, dozens of uniforms, sweaters; hundreds of notebooks and school supplies were given to students in difficult circumstances.

Parents and students choose clothes

Ms. Bui Thi Lan added that to have more funds to organize the free stalls, on the occasion of the recent Lunar New Year of the Tiger, the school organized a food stall. Specifically, students in grades 7 and 9 organized 30 stalls selling snacks (ensuring hygiene), prepared by the students themselves, selling for 1,000-10,000 VND, but many students donated more. The result was more than 35 million VND, this amount was used to support the free stalls and give scholarships to poor students in difficult circumstances.
