TPO – The leaders of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province requested A Luoi district to mobilize the entire political system to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, striving to escape the list of 74 poor districts nationwide by the end of 2023.
Reporting at the working session with the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Nguyen Thanh Binh, the leader of A Luoi district said that the results of the review of poor and near-poor households in 2022 left 5,399 poor households, accounting for 38.2% (down 11.78% and 1,623 households); 2,078 near-poor households, accounting for 14.70% (down 0.85% and 107 households).

In 2023, the People's Committee of A Luoi district provided housing support to 920 households; of which, 684 were new houses and 236 were repaired. Currently, the households are under construction, with progress reaching about 70%; nearly 20.6 billion VND has been disbursed.
In recent times, poverty reduction work has been resolutely implemented by the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and the Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction of A Luoi District; it has led and directed Party committees at all levels, authorities, relevant agencies, departments, and socio-political organizations from the district to the grassroots level to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to implement poverty reduction work.
The Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction of A Luoi district has directed the synchronous implementation of poverty reduction policies and projects, with the viewpoint: "Clearly identify the causes of poverty and have a poverty reduction plan according to the specific address for each poor household". Based on the Target Allocation Plan of the Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction of TT-Hue province, the Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction of A Luoi district has assigned poverty reduction plan targets to communes and towns for the period 2022 - 2025.

The leaders of A Luoi district affirmed that they will continue to strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and organizations at all levels in sustainable poverty reduction; identifying sustainable poverty reduction as a key task throughout the entire political system from now until 2025.
At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the TT-Hue Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh requested all levels, sectors and local authorities to focus on sustainable poverty reduction, striving to bring A Luoi out of the national list of poor districts. Completing this goal will contribute to the criteria for making TT-Hue province a centrally-run city. A Luoi district must be determined and mobilize the entire political system in implementing the National Target Program (NTP) for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh suggested that agencies and units need to assign detailed tasks and have specific plans for implementing national target programs; have specific products, with attached appendices for implementation.
“Currently, resources are concentrated on A Luoi, so it is necessary to speed up the implementation of projects. In the coming time, A Luoi district needs to focus on job creation, livelihood support, labor export and temporary housing elimination for poor households. At the same time, focus resources on implementing the disbursement of capital from national target programs in 2023. Strive to bring A Luoi out of the 74 national poor districts”, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province noted.
