On May 22, the Rehabilitation Hospital coordinated with Muong Khuong District Medical Center to organize a training course on early detection and rehabilitation for children with disabilities.

The training course was attended by 36 medical staff from Muong Khuong Town Medical Center, Muong Khuong District General Hospital and staff from commune health stations in the district.

Doctors at the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital provided students with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to serve the work of early detection and early intervention for children with disabilities.
Early detection and early intervention for children with disabilities is an important part of rehabilitation and community-based rehabilitation. Some disabilities in children include: motor disabilities such as congenital clubfoot, congenital hip dislocation, peripheral nerve palsy, etc.; hearing and speech disabilities such as hearing loss, delayed language development, speech sound disorders, tongue-tie, cleft lip and palate; visual disabilities such as color blindness, visual impairment, amblyopia, refractive errors; neuropsychiatric disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, hyperactivity, attention deficit, etc.

The Rehabilitation Hospital is currently caring for and rehabilitating 150 disabled children. Here, doctors perform many specialized intervention techniques for children such as: shortwave machines, ultrasound therapy, electroconvulsive therapy, spinal traction machines...; speech therapy, occupational therapy, exercises combined with orthopedic devices...
Early intervention measures are designed to address the developmental needs of children with disabilities. Caring for and rehabilitating children with disabilities helps them improve their lives, integrate into the community, and contribute to social security.
