Training on propaganda of traffic safety law in 2024

On the afternoon of November 29, the Traffic Safety Committee of Thanh Hoa province organized a training conference to propagate traffic safety law and order in 2024.

Comrades Mai Xuan Liem, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee; Trinh Huy Trieu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Transport, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee chaired the conference. The conference was held online at the Provincial People's Committee and 27 bridge points of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; 558 bridge points of the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns in the province.

At the conference, delegates listened to the Chief of Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee disseminate the directions of the Party, Government, National Traffic Safety Committee, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee in ensuring traffic safety and order; traffic safety and order situation in the province in 11 months of 2024; and solutions to overcome.

Representatives of the Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police disseminated and thoroughly grasped the contents of Decision No. 1043/QD-TTg, dated September 25, 2024 of the Prime Minister on Promulgating the Plan to implement the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, which was approved by the National Assembly on June 27, 2024; effective from January 1, 2025.

The representative of the Vietnam Road Administration disseminated the contents of Decision No. 1044/QD-TTg, dated September 26, 2024 on Promulgating the Plan for implementing the Road Law, which was approved by the National Assembly on June 27, 2024; effective from January 1, 2025.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem emphasized: Currently, due to the increasing number of vehicles and travel needs, the traffic infrastructure has not been able to meet the demand; along with that, the awareness and compliance with traffic laws of a part of the population and a part of teenagers and students is not high. The effectiveness of propaganda work on traffic safety laws in some localities has not created a widespread influence. The traffic safety situation in the province is forecasted to remain very complicated.

In the 11 months of 2024, there were 845 traffic accidents in the province, killing 373 people and injuring 697 people; of which road traffic accidents accounted for a very high proportion (accounting for more than 97% of the number of cases, deaths and injuries).

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem requested the delegates to uphold their responsibilities, fully absorb the contents to promptly declare the tasks of ensuring traffic order and safety according to the assigned and decentralized tasks. Thereby, continuing to control and reduce traffic accidents, building a safe and friendly traffic culture, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic goals in 2024 and in the coming time, especially the peak occasion of ensuring traffic order and safety during the upcoming New Year, Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2025.
