And TH maintains quality control of the cows throughout the process from the US to the Vietnamese farm in accordance with regulations, licensed by state agencies to meet both veterinary law and environmental requirements”.
Nghi Son Port is about 40 km from TH Farm in Yen My Commune. This is a reasonable distance for TH Group to optimize transportation costs and help the cows to be less tired and quickly stabilize after a long ocean trip.

The herd of 2,009 purebred Holstein Friesian (HF) dairy cows imported from the US to Vietnam this time are pregnant and were selected with very high standards. This is a HF breed similar to the herd of TH farm in Vietnam, which is currently producing an average milk yield of 11,000-12,000 liters/cow/305-day cycle, equivalent to 36-40 liters of milk/day. The fat ratio in milk reaches 3.6 - 3.8% and the protein ratio is over 2.7%.
The herd is a breed with good genetic performance, including the potential for low somatic cell count traits, which helps control mastitis – a common disease in dairy cows that can have a very serious impact on milk quality.
Mr. Phan Van Thin, Head of the Quarantine and Veterinary Department of Region 3 shared: “The Veterinary Department of Region 3 has worked with TH Group to carefully prepare quarantine areas to welcome the first imported dairy cows from the US to Thanh Hoa province. This is a step forward to develop the province's livestock industry, especially the development of the clean fresh milk production industry, serving the Vietnamese people”.
Mr. Phan Van Thin, Head of the Quarantine and Veterinary Department of Region 3, said that quarantine areas have been carefully prepared to welcome the first imported dairy cows from the US to Thanh Hoa province.

Previously, TH farms in Vietnam such as Phu Yen, Lam Dong, Thanh Hoa... often received cows that had fully adapted to Vietnam's conditions from TH's world-largest concentrated dairy farm cluster applying high technology with a closed production process in Nghia Dan district, Nghe An province.

The initiative from the selection to reception, quarantine, and careful raising of a farm cluster this time shows the perfection of TH's international-class process of concentrated dairy farming applying high technology, fully capable of successfully replicating the Nghia Dan model to other localities and countries...
To welcome 2,009 purebred HF high-yield dairy cows, TH Yen My built 7 more modern barns with a perimeter of 2 km. All have been cleaned, disinfected, surrounded by 2.5m high fences and the most modern technology in the world to be ready for 45 days of quarantine and epidemic prevention according to international regulations.
To prevent epidemics and prepare for this cow reception, TH coordinated with local authorities in 56 buffer communes, within a radius of more than 5 km around the farm, to test and vaccinate all veterinarians against infectious diseases.
The barn system is ready to receive the cows.
The cows will be cared for and raised according to the most modern and optimal technological processes: Breeding, herd management, barn management... according to Israeli technology; Disease management process, veterinary work to protect the health of New Zealand cows; Management process of food processing, nutrition of cows according to Israeli process; Water treatment process and equipment according to modern German technology; Waste treatment process and equipment according to advanced technology of Koastal - Singapore; Milk processing process and equipment from Germany and Sweden.
It is expected that in June 2024, TH Yen My will produce the first lines of clean, high-quality fresh milk. The largest and most modern milking system in Vietnam invested by TH Group in Yen My has a capacity to milk 80 cows at the same time. This milking system only needs 6 hours to milk more than 3,000 cows, helping to optimize human resources and costs.
It is expected that in June 2024, TH Yen My will produce the first lines of quality fresh milk.
The Thanh Hoa High-Tech Dairy Farming and Milk Processing Project of TH Group has a total investment of 3,800 billion VND, with a scale of raising 20,000 dairy cows. The project area of nearly 165 hectares is for building farms and important works such as milking centers, feed processing factories, clean water and wastewater treatment areas, dairy hospitals, etc. The area for proactive green raw material sources is 735 hectares.
In addition to the farm land, TH Group plans to cooperate with local people to build a raw material area for dairy cows (corn, grass) to replace ineffective agricultural land. TH's dairy farming project is creating direct and indirect jobs for tens of thousands of workers in the project area.
