This is the next step in TH's journey of steadfastly implementing investment projects in the Russian Federation, following successful milestones in Kaluga and Moscow provinces, where TH farms and factories are considered key projects for the region's economic development.
Groundbreaking ceremony of TH dairy farming and milk processing project with total investment of 19 billion rubles (more than 5,200 billion VND).
The coastal territory of Primorsky Krai, with the administrative center of the city of Vladivostok, has the largest economy in the Russian Far East. It is the gateway connecting the Russian Federation with the Asia-Pacific region and has been affirmed by Russian President Vladimir Putin as an absolute priority region for Russia in the 21st century.
The Russian Federation has implemented many preferential policies to support the development of projects and attract foreign investors in this region. Notable among them are preferential policies on agriculture to awaken and stimulate great potentials, helping Russia rise up to become an agricultural powerhouse, not only meeting domestic demand but also exporting to the world. Along with these incentives is the constant improvement of infrastructure, logistics, energy systems, etc.
In 2023, the trade turnover between Vietnam and the Russian Far East reached 257 million USD, of which the Primorsky Region with the seaports of Nakhodka and Vladivostok accounted for about 65% of this turnover, about 167 million USD. TH Group, a Vietnamese enterprise led by Hero of Labor Thai Huong - Chairwoman of the TH Group Strategy Council, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association, is one of the investors who sees opportunities in this region.
From the very beginning, Ms. Thai Huong, with her outstanding thinking and grasping the golden moment in her business, considered the Far East region a priority in the TH Project in the Russian Federation - an investment project considered a noble gesture of gratitude to the country that had spared no effort to help Vietnam during the war. Since the beginning of 2017, after the official visit to Vietnam and working with TH Group to introduce the potential of the Far East region by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, TH sent a delegation of experts to survey potential lands in Primorsky Krai. TH has officially become a member of the Mikhailovsky Superior Economic Development Zone (belonging to the Far East Superior Economic Zones) since September 2017.
At the Eastern Economic Forum, on September 6, 2017, Hero of Labor Thai Huong commented on the Far East Region in a speech before President Vladimir Putin: "The Russian Federation has a large land area, but except for the lands in the South such as Sochi or Krasnodar... which have a longer production period, most of the year there are only 6 months that can be cultivated, the remaining 6 months are in hibernation. But I consider that a priceless gift that nature has bestowed upon the great Russia. Because during the 6 months of hibernation, microorganisms are active, creating a priceless clean nutritional ecosystem for the soil and it is also the time for the soil to rest.
Just by bringing in science, technology and management science, these lands will blossom, bringing unlimited values that the world is dreaming of and aiming for - that is organic clean agriculture serving human life". This is the event where the Founder of TH Group was the only woman among 40 investors to meet President Vladimir Putin, and was one of five foreign investors invited to speak.
From thinking to action, with the successful experience of the 1.2 billion USD project in Vietnam, TH Group has implemented the Project in Russia with the seriousness, professionalism and humanity of the brand as the guiding light. Applying high technology, science and technology and management science intertwined to change the traditional production method to a modern production method - high-tech agriculture and agriculture 4.0, TH Group creates agricultural products that meet international quality standards, with the most reasonable cost and price, completely from nature on the land of the Russian Federation.
According to the agreement, TH Group will implement an investment project in Primorsky Krai province, including: Construction of a farm with 6,000 milking cows (total herd of 12,000 cows); Construction of a milk processing plant with a capacity of 250 tons/day; Concentrated raw material area: area of 13,000 hectares. In addition to the milk project, TH Group will simultaneously develop the cultivation of crops such as alfalfa grass and soybeans for export to potential markets.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Ponomarev Vitaly Stanislavovich - Investment Project Implementation Support Department of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (KRDV) said: "Primorsky Krai is one of the most suitable Far Eastern provinces to implement projects in the agricultural sector with the aim of both enhancing Russia's food security and exporting products internationally thanks to the favorable geographical location of the Primorsky region".
Mr. Ponomarev Vitaly Stanislavovich affirmed that the project of TH Rus Primorsky Company - a member company of Mikhailovsky Economic Zone, initiated by one of the largest agricultural enterprises in Vietnam, TH Group, has been receiving comprehensive support and companionship at all stages from the Ministry of Development of Eastern Russia and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation.
The company has access to preferential tax and administrative policies, and is facilitated to do business. To implement the project, the management unit of the Economic Zone has provided the company with more than 13,000 hectares of land; together with government agencies and resource providers, they have built infrastructure to ensure electricity, gas, water supply and drainage connections.
"We wish the project success. We also hope that other major Vietnamese investors will follow this example and start implementing projects in the Far East and the Arctic with effective state support," Ponomarev Vitaly Stanislavovich emphasized.
Evaluating this project, Mr. Ngo Minh Hai - Chairman of the Board of Directors of TH Group said: Our TH Group is known as the leading enterprise in Vietnam in dairy farming, processing fresh milk under the TH true MILK brand, along with a healthy beverage ecosystem and clean food. In Vietnam, TH currently owns the largest concentrated dairy farm cluster in the world. TH's investment projects focus on applying high technology, science and technology and management science intertwined to create products that meet international standards at the most reasonable cost. According to Mr. Hai, TH Group has been successful in implementing the Milk Project in Moscow Province, Kaluga Province and today continues to start the dairy farming and milk processing project in Primorsky Region. That success, in addition to the capacity and efforts of the investor, also has the participation of the Russian Federation government and localities. The Russian Federation, headed by President Vladimir Putin, has had appropriate policies to awaken and arouse great potential in agriculture, bringing Russia to rise with conditions to become an agricultural powerhouse, not only meeting domestic demand but also exporting to the world. In Primorsky Region, we have received the wholehearted support and companionship from the authorities at all levels since the early days of the project.
You have heard the presentation and seen the vivid videos about the scale and progress of the project. The first items of the dairy farm - a warm home for 6,000 milking cows in the near future will be quickly deployed.
To implement the herd development plan, we are committed to reclaiming the entire 13,000 hectares received from the Primorsky government to ensure food sources for the entire herd. By the end of 2027, when the dairy plant is put into operation, 100% of the input materials will be supplied from the farm cluster and officially form a closed production chain applying high technology "from pasture to table", contributing to the growth of the total product of the Primorsky region.
In addition to the dairy farming project for milk processing, TH Group is also developing the cultivation of high-value crops such as alfalfa grass and soybeans for domestic commercial sale as well as export to Asia-Pacific markets to take advantage of the geographical advantages of the Primorsky region.
On this occasion, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Federal Government, especially the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Far East and the Arctic Development Corporation, the Primorsky Region Government, and the Yakovlevsky District for their close support and assistance to the project, from land search and survey, guidance and implementation of administrative procedures, to receiving preferential policies such as reimbursement of costs for reclamation of long-abandoned agricultural land; reimbursement of costs for purchasing agricultural machinery, etc. We would also like to thank the local people of the Yakovlevsky District and the village of Nikolo-Mikhailovka.
Due to geographical characteristics, the areas where the TH Project is implemented in Primorsky Krai face many challenges because many areas have low-lying terrain and lack infrastructure: electricity, roads, gas, etc. Most of the agricultural land has been abandoned for many years and is in a state of flooding due to the lack of a drainage system or the old canal system has been buried, needing to be reclaimed, and dams built to prevent river water from overflowing into the production area during the snow-melting season and the rainy and flood season. However, with the determination of the TH Group's Board of Directors, the outstanding leadership of the Founder as well as the support of the local government, the barriers are gradually being removed, all difficulties are gradually receding to make way for opportunities.
The project received a lot of support from the Federal and local governments, including support policies for businesses that are members of the Far East Superior Economic Zones, support for land reclamation costs; purchase of agricultural machinery; farm construction; milk subsidies, preferential loans, etc.
Before starting the dairy farm, TH has reclaimed and planted soybeans since 2021. In 2024, the Group's plan is to plant soybeans on an area of 2,150 hectares and reclaim about 5,200 hectares of land. In 2025, it will reclaim more than 4,000 hectares of land, bringing the entire 13,000 hectares of land received into cultivation.
On this occasion, TH Group attended the Vladivostok International Exhibition 2024 (GLOBAL EXPO Vladivostok 2024) taking place from May 23-25, 2024, introducing products and promoting trade in this region. Throughout Russia, TH Group has also attended many exhibitions and fairs to reach Russian consumers, including 7 consecutive years of attending the Russian Federation International Food Exhibition (Moscow).
TH Group has been implementing the project of Dairy Farming and Milk Processing Complex in the Russian Federation since 2016, when Russia was under sanctions from Western countries, Russian people were lacking milk and dairy products. TH Group is the largest Vietnamese investor in Russia in the agricultural sector.
In Moscow province, in January 2018, TH imported 1,100 purebred high-yielding cows from the US and opened a farm. Thanks to the high-yielding dairy cow gene source imported from the US, modern technology and management science, TH's dairy cow herd has the highest average milk yield in Russia, about 40 liters/cow/day. Some cows give 104 liters/day, many cows give 60-90 liters/day. With high protein and fat content, the farm's raw milk is being sold to the largest dairy companies in Russia at the highest market price. These are the most important indicators proving the effectiveness of TH's project in Russia. Currently, TH is completing the farm in Volokolamsk district, Moscow province to reach a scale of 6,000 milking cows (total herd of 12,000 cows).
In Kaluga province, TH Group is building a farm in Kaluga province and a TH Fresh Milk Processing Plant in Kaluga province. In January 2023, the TH farm in Kaluga welcomed 2,400 high-yielding Holstein cows imported from the US. Currently, the total herd in Kaluga is 3,300. The first phase of the 500-ton dairy factory in Kaluga Industrial Park is under construction.
With great determination, in the provinces and territories where the Project is being implemented, TH Group has transformed tens of thousands of hectares of land abandoned for decades in Russia into fertile, high-yield fields. TH Group's crops are all assessed by experts as being of high quality.
