CNCTech Group "joins hands" with foreign partners to develop supporting industries

CNCTech Group (Vietnam) has "joined hands" with Signetics Company, a large Korean semiconductor enterprise, to build a semiconductor factory in Ba Thien 1 Industrial Park, Vinh Phuc Province, with the project expected to come into operation in 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Director of CNCTech Thang Long, CNCTech Group, informed about the project that this Group "joined hands" with a Korean partner to invest in Vinh Phuc.

Through studying investment attraction policies, Korean enterprises found common goals with CNCTech in semiconductor manufacturing cooperation in Vietnam. Signetics is a large Korean semiconductor enterprise.

"We have recently signed a cooperation agreement to build a semiconductor factory in Ba Thien 1 Industrial Park, Vinh Phuc Province with an area of over 50,000m2, with a total minimum investment of 100 million USD. According to the plan, the factory will be operational in October 2025," Mr. Trung informed.

Signetics has very prominent products including flip-chip BGA, FPGA, ... which are chips installed in TVs and GPUs. Meanwhile, CNCTech has strengths in industrial production, infrastructure as well as technology.

Semiconductor is a fairly new industry in Vietnam, this is also an opportunity for CNCTech to participate more deeply and widely in new industrial sectors and new technologies imported from abroad to Vietnam.

According to Mr. Trung, to attract foreign partners to invest, CNCTech has been building a complete ecosystem to connect with companies and businesses around the world as well as Vietnamese companies, thereby forming an ecosystem that can support each other, benefit both sides, and create the most long-term value.

Speaking more about policies to support the development of supporting industries, Mr. Pham Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that in recent times, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has always closely coordinated with localities to implement the supporting industry development program approved by the Prime Minister.

The policy on supporting industry in recent times has been relatively complete. Decree No. 111/2015/ND-CP has had a great impact on enterprises when it was applied from 2017 to present. Thanks to that, supporting industry products have gradually participated in supply chains and achieved relatively high added value.

"Recently, many satellite FDI enterprises have followed large corporations to invest in Vietnam to take advantage of policy incentives, tax incentives and environmental policies," Mr. Tuan Anh emphasized.

Through support programs, the number of Vietnamese enterprises participating in supplying foreign enterprises and corporations is constantly increasing.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Head of Business Planning Department of Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company said: "Toyota has been operating in Vietnam for nearly 30 years, initially there were only more than 300 Vietnamese enterprises achieving ISO/TS 16949 certification, now there are over 500 enterprises. Vietnamese enterprises have advanced to higher levels of components requiring higher technology, such as stamping and forging, or components for new car models".

Meanwhile, Mr. Duong Minh Hai, Production Director of KIMSEN Industrial Joint Stock Company, said that with policy support, the company has had a strategic orientation to shift to developing the mechanical processing sector for the supporting industry. Up to now, KIMSEN's products have been supplied to multinational corporations, FDI companies operating in Vietnam and exported.

“Currently, over 50% of the company's output is directly exported and supplied to domestic FDI enterprises,” said Mr. Duong Minh Hai.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the textile and footwear industry is currently self-sufficient in about 30-45% of raw materials; in the mechanical engineering sector, about 30%.

Sharing more about the issues that foreign enterprises are concerned about when investing in Vietnam, Mr. Trung said: "Through contact with many large international customers, in addition to the common concerns about quality, price, and progress, they have now expanded to higher and more stringent standards on social responsibility, smart manufacturing, green development, sustainable development, etc."

Vietnamese enterprises that meet the requirements of green and sustainable production will easily catch the eye of foreign partners.

"In the long term, CNCTech hopes to continue to receive the support and companionship of all levels of government so that not only CNCTech but all Vietnamese enterprises will be facilitated and have a favorable environment to develop, invest, and compete fairly with companies around the world," said Mr. Trung.

Along with the increase in FDI attraction, the supporting industry in Bac Ninh province has changed significantly. The whole province currently has about 500 supporting industry enterprises participating in the supply chain, accounting for 10.1% of the number of processing and manufacturing enterprises; mainly serving the fields of assembling high-tech electronic, mechanical, food and beverage products.
In particular, the electronics industry with the presence of large global multinational corporations has attracted a series of suppliers, helping Bac Ninh become one of the leading electronics manufacturing and assembly centers in the country.
Or in Hai Phong, out of the total 28.9 billion USD of FDI capital in the city, more than 50% of the capital is focused on supporting industries such as: electronics, telephone, computer manufacturing... 22.3% of the capital is for the manufacturing industry of automobiles, motorbikes, machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts...
