Giving Tet gifts to 400 female environmental sanitation workers in Ho Chi Minh City

This event is part of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union's series of activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2024. Through this, it aims to honor the silent contributions of female workers who are directly involved in street cleaning and garbage collection in residential areas. At the same time, it is an opportunity to further promote this profession.

At the program, female workers received Tet gifts worth more than 1 million VND/gift and were given vouchers to buy consumer goods at the subsidized booth of the sponsoring enterprise.

Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Hoa, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, shared that she really appreciates the dedication of female urban sanitation workers, who do not hesitate to face difficulties to protect the green - clean - beautiful environment.

These silent contributions also help to effectively carry out the campaign "City residents do not litter on the streets and canals, for a clean city and to reduce flooding"; the movement "Say no to plastic waste" in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the program, Mr. Tran Xuan Dien, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, said that although they do not directly participate in the production and business force, environmental sanitation workers are always an indispensable team of any city or urban area.

"More than 10,000 environmental sanitation workers of the city are always silent warriors, contributing their efforts to preserve a green, clean, beautiful living environment, ensuring environmental hygiene and safety of the city," said Mr. Dien.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union also presided over and coordinated with many units to organize Tet care activities such as:

• Organize the program "Border Spring - Warming the hearts of the villagers" to take care of 500 gifts for families of policy beneficiaries, families of officers, soldiers, and women's union members in difficult circumstances in Can Gio district; organize a delegation to visit, encourage and wish a happy new year to officers and soldiers of 4 border stations in Can Gio district;
• Organize the program "Happy Tet", "Spring for Children" with art programs, gifts and funds for more than 3,000 orphans due to other causes, children in difficult circumstances, disabled children, and poor sick children.
• Organize the tourism program "Giving Spring Love" at Suoi Tien tourist area, with a total budget of 1.2 billion VND for 3,000 poor children, orphans, and children in difficult circumstances.
• Taking care of 500 cadres, members, ethnic women, religious women, women with disabilities, women affected by Agent Orange, women with HIV, and women in difficult circumstances.
• Presented 1,200 gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Can Gio district and Tien Giang, Long An provinces...
