On the morning of July 19, in Vinh Chau town (Soc Trang), the Command of Naval Region 2 coordinated with the People's Committee of Soc Trang province to organize a conference to deploy the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children" and implement the program "Vietnam Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea".

At the Conference, the Naval Region 2 Command issued a decision to sponsor 5 children of fishermen in especially difficult circumstances in Lac Hoa Ward, Ward 2, Vinh Phuoc Ward, Vinh Chau Town. When being sponsored, the children will be supported with essential facilities for daily life, medical support, and monthly expenses with a minimum of 500,000 VND/child/month.

The Navy Region 2 Command also donated 100 bags of sea medicine, 100 life jackets, 300 flags, and 500 propaganda leaflets to fishermen.

Vinh Chau town gave 10 gifts to policy families and 120 gifts to fishermen.

Previously, on July 18, the working delegation of the Naval Region 2 Command coordinated with Trung Binh Border Guard Station, Vinh Chau Border Guard Station, and Soc Trang Provincial Border Guard to present life jackets and national flags to fishermen; encouraging fishermen in their journey to go offshore, participating in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
