Mr. Vu Dinh Thang, in zone 3, Cam Thuong ward (Hai Duong city, right) is excited to receive an increase in his subsidy.

Practical source of encouragement

The Ministry of National Defense has just issued Circular 53/2024/TT-BQP regulating the adjustment of monthly allowances for soldiers and people working in secretarial work who receive salaries similar to those of soldiers who have been demobilized, discharged, or quit their jobs. Accordingly, the monthly allowance of these people from July 2024 will be increased by 15% compared to the level received in June 2024. The Circular takes effect from November 1, 2024.

Mr. Vu Dinh Thang, 68 years old, living in Zone 3, Cam Thuong Ward (Hai Duong City) has served in the army for more than 16 years and 3 months and is receiving a monthly allowance of VND2,288,000. After the 15% increase, Mr. Thang will receive a monthly allowance of VND2,746,000. "I have just undergone a long-term stroke treatment. The allowance will help my family cover more medical expenses and daily living expenses," said Mr. Thang.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Ngu, 70 years old, in Kim Chue village, An Duc commune (Ninh Giang) said that the increase in the subsidy level shows the special attention of the Party and the State for those who have "gone through life and died" to protect the Fatherland like him. "In our old age, our children are not well off, we can only rely on the monthly subsidy from the State. This is practical material support and a source of spiritual encouragement that helps us have more joy in life," said Mr. Ngu.
