On February 28, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SVAW) Le Thi Thu Hang received the delegation of the Executive Committee of the Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese (BAOOV) led by Mr. Peter Hong - President of BAOOV, to greet and discuss the direction of coordination of activities between the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SVAW) and BAOOV.

At the reception, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang congratulated BAOOV on successfully organizing the 4th Congress and electing the Executive Committee for the 2023-2028 term with the motto of practical operation, meeting the new needs of the country and socio-economic development. The Deputy Minister also highly appreciated the activities of BAOOV in the past time and Mr. Peter Hong personally - who actively contributed to the association since its inception.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs always accompanies and supports BAOOV in activities connecting overseas Vietnamese businessmen with domestic businessmen, supporting localities and domestic enterprises, thereby supporting the people in the country. The Deputy Minister welcomed BAOOV for developing an action plan for the first 6 months of 2024, as soon as the new Executive Committee was completed and had specific results. The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese highly appreciated and will accompany and support BAOOV in its implementation. The Deputy Minister also agreed that the Committee and the Association will increase the exchange and sharing of information every 6 months. The Deputy Minister hopes that in the Year of the Dragon, BAOOV and the Executive Committee will lay a new foundation for the next step of development of the organization, affirming its role as a bridge connecting overseas Vietnamese businessmen with the country. On behalf of the association, Mr. Peter Hong thanked Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang for taking the time to meet and share the direction of BAOOV's activities in the coming time. He thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese for accompanying and helping BAOOV over the past time, especially in organizing the 4th Congress held in January 2024. At the meeting, Mr. Peter Hong discussed specifically with Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang about the content of BAOOV's action plan for the first 6 months of 2024 and hoped that the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese would continue to accompany, guide and support BAOOV to effectively implement the activities. The Chairman of BAOOV thanked the Deputy Minister for agreeing with the proposal to increase periodic information exchange and sharing between the committee and the association. The new BAOOV Chairman and Executive Board will continue to strive to unite and expand the organization's activities, contributing more positively to the country's economic development and the development of the NVNONN business community.
