On July 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Food Association in collaboration with Vinaxad Company held a press conference to introduce the 28th International Exhibition on Food, Beverages and Processing Technology Equipment, Food and Beverage Packaging. Accordingly, this year's exhibition attracted the participation of more than 900 businesses.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Khanh, Deputy General Director of Vinaxad Company, said that this year's exhibition attracted 1,200 booths from 900 enterprises from 20 countries and territories, an increase of 40% compared to the scale of 2023. Of which, nearly 50% are food and processed food products. Nearly 30% are technology and packaging enterprises. The rest are spice enterprises, processing technology equipment, packaging, food and beverage labels, etc. The exhibition is expected to welcome more than 25,000 visitors.
Ms. Ly Kim Chi, President of the Food and Foodstuff Association, said that there are currently three regulations that have a significant negative impact on the growth of the food and foodstuff industry.
Specifically, the special consumption tax on alcoholic beverages and sugar, and the regulation on adding micronutrients such as iodine and salt to processed food products. In fact, food and beverage production enterprises affected by the above regulations have been experiencing a serious decline in revenue. Therefore, on the one hand, the association and enterprises continue to petition the authorities to remove the above inappropriate regulations to maintain the growth rate for enterprises. In addition, through the above exhibition, the organizing committee creates conditions for enterprises to display products, connect with trade, expand cooperation partners, contributing to increasing market share in the global supply chain.
The exhibition officially takes place from August 8 to 10 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.
