Strengthening cooperation between Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and Hokkaido (Japan)

As part of the program of visiting Hokkaido province and attending the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024, Japan, this afternoon (August 8), the delegation of Quang Ninh province led by Mr. Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Hokkaido province, Mr. Suzuki Naomichi. Also attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union; and leaders of a number of local departments, branches and sectors in the province.

On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Xuan Phuong thanked the Governor of Hokkaido for inviting Quang Ninh province to visit Hokkaido province and attend the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024. At the same time, he informed the leaders of the Hokkaido provincial government about some positive results that Quang Ninh province has achieved in socio-economic development.

Comrade Dang Xuan Phuong affirmed that Quang Ninh province always attaches importance to and wishes to further strengthen the cooperative relationship with Japan in general and Hokkaido province in particular. With the efforts in recent times, Quang Ninh and Hokkaido provinces have achieved some outstanding results in many fields, however, the potential and advantages of the two provinces are still very large.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation highly appreciated the role of Governor Suzuki Naomichi in actively directing the functional agencies of Hokkaido province to closely coordinate with Quang Ninh province to strongly promote cooperation between the two provinces. At the same time, he proposed a number of key cooperation contents between the two provinces in the coming time in the fields of tourism, culture, trade promotion, training, human resource exchange; investment attraction, especially high-tech, advanced technology, clean technology, and environmentally friendly FDI projects.

Governor of Hokkaido, Mr. Suzuki Naomichi expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Quang Ninh province to visit Hokkaido province and attend the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024. At the same time, he welcomed the proposals of Quang Ninh province and will prioritize them in the cooperation programs between the two provinces in the coming time. He hoped that the visit of the delegation of Quang Ninh province and the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024 would be a great success, thereby further promoting exchange and cooperation activities between Quang Ninh province and Hokkaido, contributing to deepening the friendly relationship and good traditions between Vietnam and Japan.

As part of the working program, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh Province Dang Xuan Phuong and the delegation of Quang Ninh Province will participate in many activities such as the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024; survey a number of high-tech production facilities and tourist areas; attend seminars and forums.
