The delegation was led by Journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the Southern region. Also attending the delegation were Journalist Nguyen Thi Hai Van - Director of the Center for Professional Development and staff from the Vietnam Journalists Association office in Ho Chi Minh City.
Talking to the delegation, university leaders expressed their interest in cooperation programs from the Vietnam Journalists Association. This cooperation will open up many opportunities for students studying in the faculties of public relations and journalism. From there, they will be able to perfect their skills and supplement their preparation for the profession.
Highly appreciating this cooperation, Journalist Duong Trong Dat - Director of the Institute of Culture, Arts and Communication of Van Lang University also said: “Each year, the school enrolls about 3,000 students for the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication. In addition to professional training, students also participate in events, cultural and artistic activities, and international exchanges. The cooperation with the Journalists Association in helping students grasp practical activities enriches their knowledge to help them approach jobs easily after graduation”.
According to Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman of the Council of the University of Economics and Finance, the cooperation with the Vietnam Journalists Association to equip students with basic practical skills, experience in media activities, events and social activities is very favorable.
The leaders of the University of Economics and Finance also added that the school is currently training the public relations and communications faculty in a bi-disciplinary and bilingual format. The school is also investing in facilities to improve the quality of training, student services, student employment, and connection with business activities.
The delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association worked and exchanged cooperation with the University of Economics and Finance.
In response to the above sharing of the school representative, Journalist Tran Trong Dung said: “The Vietnam Journalists Association will promote cooperation between units, revolving around three issues: the need for media training, promoting digital transformation of journalism and coordinating the organization of journalism skills training courses. In addition to the main curriculum, students also need communication skills. Cooperation will focus on imparting skills appropriate to the school's faculties, focusing on journalism skills and journalistic ethics. At the same time, promote communication through events, seminars, workshops... Support the school in terms of community-based communication”.
Sharing about the skills training programs of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Journalist Nguyen Thi Hai Van - Director of the Professional Training Center said that the professional training program for reporters and editors is mostly conducted by experienced journalists, and at the same time, organizes the compilation of a number of professional books, coordinates with local departments and branches, and provides training on professional issues.
In addition, the practical activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association, of experienced reporters and journalists will help final year students gain more knowledge and skills so that they can approach their jobs more easily after graduation. This is also the desire of the schools in the cooperative relationship and coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association.
