According to the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination , by the end of 2024, the country will have 15,590 OCOP products with 3 stars or more (an increase of 4,534 products compared to 2023). The OCOP program has had a positive and strong impact on production development in rural areas, contributing to the transformation from small-scale agricultural production to production in the direction of value chain linkage, building stable local raw material areas , creating more jobs, promoting economic development, especially livelihoods in particularly difficult areas.
Grasping that trend, localities are currently having plans to support producers to improve product quality and design to meet market demand. Typically, in Vinh Phuc province, there are currently 178 products recognized as 3-star or higher OCOP products. Many OCOP products have developed well in the market and are favored by many consumers, such as: sweetened pasteurized fresh milk, Vinh Tuong purple sticky rice yogurt, drinking yogurt of Vinh Thinh Livestock and Milk Processing Joint Stock Company; oyster mushrooms of Phung Gia Mushroom Company Limited; wild flower honey, tacumin, cordyceps and royal jelly of Tam Dao Bee Joint Stock Company...
To promote the development of OCOP products, the province has issued mechanisms and policies to support the development of traditional, key, and advantageous products in each locality. In the 2021-2025 period, Vinh Phuc plans to allocate 32.5 billion VND from the budget to directly support the implementation of the program; of which, the budget to support the subjects participating in the program is more than 18 billion VND. At the same time, the province will support the implementation of 8-10 mobile sales and introduction points in the centers of districts, markets, supermarkets, apartments, and tourist attractions in the area; organize participation in OCOP fairs in provinces and cities across the country to expand the market and increase the competitiveness of local products.
Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, Hop Chau town, Tam Dao district is the unit that owns 9 products that meet 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards; 2 products are certified as typical rural industrial products of Vinh Phuc province. Director of Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, Nguyen Quoc Huy, said that the unit always puts product quality and customer benefits first. The cooperative always innovates technology, builds raw material areas according to chain links in many localities, invests in designing suitable labels so that products can access the market well.

Not only Vinh Phuc province but also Tra Vinh province, this year the local government will continue to implement policies to support the development of OCOP products. Specifically, the province will select 7 products to support 100% of the cost of packaging design, product labels and product story building with a maximum of 10 million VND/product; support the cost of renting or building 2 new stores selling OCOP products with a support level of 50 million VND/store; at the same time, support the cost of purchasing machinery and equipment, production lines for 7 rural industry establishments with OCOP products, with a support level of 50% of the cost, not exceeding 300 million VND/establishment.
Deputy Head of the Rural Development Department Pham Thanh Tieng said that through policies, many establishments and enterprises have boldly invested and applied advanced machinery and equipment technology in production, helping to improve productivity and product quality; products are increasingly diverse. Thereby contributing to promoting the development of the OCOP program, increasing income for rural people, bringing OCOP products to the domestic and international markets.
Tra Vinh province currently has 393 OCOP products of 250 entities achieving 3 stars or more; of which, there are 3 products achieving 5 stars, 7 potential 5-star products, 46 products achieving 4 stars, and 337 products achieving 3 stars. In 2025, the province strives to have at least 20 more OCOP products recognized as 3 stars or more. Hopefully, with specific support policies from localities across the country, the OCOP Program will develop rapidly and sustainably. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for people in rural areas to develop the economy, improve the quality of life, and actively contribute to building increasingly prosperous new rural areas...
